Mike Goodson (basketball)
Michael Darryl Goodson Jr. (born May 23, 1987) is a former American football running back. He played college football at Texas A&M. Goodson was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He also played for the Oakland Raiders and the New York Jets. Early years Goodson attended Westfield High School in Houston previously before he attended Klein Collins High School in Spring, Texas, where he played football and ran track. During his junior year, Goodson ran for 1,152 yards on 101 carries, averaging 11.5 yards per carry with 14 touchdowns, and had 11 receptions for 277 yards and 5 touchdowns. His senior year, Goodson had 973 yards rushing on 99 carries. He was invited to play in the 2006 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Running Back
A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. It was through college football play that American football rules first gained popularity in the United States. Unlike most other sports in North America, no official minor league farm organizations exist in American or Canadian football. Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns are the athletic teams representing the University of Texas at Austin. The teams are sometimes referred to as the Horns and take their name from Longhorn cattle that were an important part of the development of Texas, and are now the official "large animal" of the U.S. state of Texas. Generally, both the men's and women's teams are referred to as the Longhorns, and the mascot is a Texas Longhorn steer named Bevo. The Longhorns have consistently been ranked as the biggest brand in collegiate athletics, in both department size and breadth of appeal.
