Mike Gillette
Mike Gillette (born c. 1967) is a former American football and baseball player. He was a placekicker for the University of Michigan Wolverines football team from 1985 to 1988 and a punter for the 1988 team. He also played baseball for Michigan, and later played professionally in the minor leagues. Gillette finished his college football career is the leading scorer in Michigan football history with 295 points on 53 field goals, 130 extra points, and one touchdown. He also set Michigan records for the longest field goal (56 yards) and most field goals in a single game (five). Football career Gillette grew up in St. Joseph, Michigan, and was an all-state quarterback, placekicker and punter at St. Joseph High School. He enrolled at the University of Michigan in 1985. Placekicker
Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role. Prior to the 1934 standardization of the prolate spheroid shape of the ball, drop kicking was the prevalent method of kicking field goals and conversions, but even after its replacement by place kicking, until the 1960s the kicker almost always doubled at another position on the roster. George Blanda, Lou Groza, Frank Gifford and Paul Hornung are prominent examples of players who were stars at other positions as well as being known for their kicking abilities. Quinn Nordin
Quinn Nordin (born August 16, 1998) is an American football placekicker who is a free agent. He played college football at Michigan and signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2021. High school career Nordin played high school football at Rockford High School in Rockford, Michigan. Nordin missed much of his senior season due to a shoulder injury, but returned to action late for a Rockford team that made it to the third round of the Division-1 state playoffs with an 8–3 overall record. He converted two of three field goal attempts during his senior year with a long of 51 yards, landed seven punts inside the 20 yard line (while averaging 53 yards per punt), and landed 17 of 18 kickoffs in the endzone for touchbacks (the other was an onside kick). Harwich is a town in Essex, England, and one of the Haven ports on the North Sea coast. It is in the Tendring district. John Flaherty
John Timothy Flaherty (born October 21, 1967) is an American television baseball broadcaster and a former Major League Baseball catcher who played for several teams between 1992 and 2005. He is currently a broadcaster for the YES Network. Early life Flaherty grew up in West Nyack, New York and graduated in 1985 from Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey. He went to grammar school at St. Anthony School in Nanuet, New York. He attended George Washington University, graduating in 1990 with a BA in Speech Communications and a minor in Psychology. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. One of the nation's premier collegiate summer leagues, the league boasts over one thousand former players who have gone on to play in the major leagues.
