Mike (Michael) Edmunds is a British astrophysicist, known for his research on the interpretation of the chemical composition of the Universe and the origin of interstellar dust. Education He received his undergraduate degree and his doctorate from the University of Cambridge. Career He has lived and worked in Wales for over 35 years. He is an Emeritus Professor and former Head of the School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University in Wales. Astrophysics
Astrophysics is a science that employs the methods and principles of physics and chemistry in the study of astronomical objects and phenomena. As one of the founders of the discipline said, Astrophysics "seeks to ascertain the nature of the heavenly bodies, rather than their positions or motions in space–''what'' they are, rather than ''where'' they are."
