Michael "Mike" Dixon is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'', played by Paul Byatt. The character debuted on-screen during the episode broadcast on 1 October 1990. Casting Byatt began playing Mike in 1990. Kibble-White 2002, p.155. Byatt's brother and three sisters had previously appeared in ''Brookside'' playing recurring roles. Tibballs 1992, p.73. Of this Byatt stated that "turning out cast members for Brookside is a family industry." When Byatt finished his A levels, he followed the family tradition of auditioning for ''Brookside''. Unlike his siblings, Byatt secured a regular role on the show. The Byatt's success of being cast in ''Brookside'' can be attributed to their mother owning a casting agency. Byatt recalled "I was on my summer holidays and just heard about the audition because my mum’s got an agency. I kind of fell into it, and here I am 12 years later." Frank Rogers (Brookside)
Frank Rogers is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'', played by Peter Christian. The character made his first on-screen appearance during the episode broadcast 1 December 1987 and remained in the show for an additional six years, being killed off in the episode aired on 5 November 1993. Development Frank, a lorry driver, had been promised a desk-job but failed to gain the promotion. The breakdown of their marriage deeply effects their youngest daughter Katie Rogers (Diane Burke). Alexandra Fletcher
Alexandra Fletcher (born 8 July 1976) is an English actress, known for her roles as List of Brookside characters, Jacqui Dixon in ''Brookside (television programme), Brookside'' and Diane Hutchinson in ''Hollyoaks''. Career Fletcher joined ''Brookside'' in 1990, and played the role of Jacqui Dixon until the series ended in 2003. In addition to her role in ''Brookside'', she has made a number of other television appearances, both in acting and presenting roles. These include parts in ''Doctors (2000 TV series), Doctors'' and ''MIT: Murder Investigation Team'', and a guest presenting role on the chat show ''Loose Women''. Fletcher took some time away from acting in the late 2000s and trained as a Fitness professional, fitness instructor. She qualified in 2009, and taught at a number of locations. Vince Earl
Vincent Earl (born 11 June 1944) is an English singer, comedian and actor most famous for his portrayal of the character Ron Dixon in the soap opera ''Brookside'', a role which he played from 1990 until the show's demise in 2003. He was involved in the Merseybeat scene of the 1960s as singer with the Vince Earl and the Talismen, and Vince Earl & the Attractions. He also played in the band "Rory Storm and the Hurricanes" and The Wirral band The Zero's who played in the Majestic nightclub Conway street Birkenhead in the early 1960s. John Burgess (actor)
John Burgess (2 February 1933 – 15 November 2010) was an English actor, best known as David Crosbie in Channel 4's long-running soap opera, ''Brookside'', between 1992 and 1998. He also appeared in ''EastEnders'' as Donna Ludlow's adoptive father, Gerald for a few episodes in 1988 and 1989. Early life Burgess was born John Herman Louis Bogush in Hampstead, north west London, the son of Edith Ferst and Bertram Bogush. He had two younger siblings, Michael and Wendy. His paternal grandfather, Morris, who arrived in the UK from Poland at the turn of the 20th century, became a successful travelling jeweller. His maternal grandparents were Hungarian. Burgess was born Jewish but had no faith.
