Mike Chenault
Charles Michael Chenault (born February 25, 1957) is an American politician in the state of Alaska. Chenault served as a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 2001 to 2019, representing portions of the Kenai Peninsula Borough, where he has lived for most of his life. Chenault served as the body's speaker from 2009 to 2017. He lost his position as house speaker to Democrat Bryce Edgmon when three Republicans joined a coalition of Democrats to form a bipartisan house majority after the general election in November 2016. Michael James Dunleavy (born May 5, 1961) is an American educator and politician serving as the 12th governor of Alaska. A Republican, Dunleavy was a member of the Alaska Senate from 2013 to 2018. He defeated former Democratic United States senator Mark Begich in the 2018 gubernatorial election after incumbent governor Bill Walker dropped out of the race. He was reelected in 2022. Nikiski is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. The population was 4,456 at the 2020 census, down from 4,493 in 2010. Geography Nikiski is located at (60.707891, -151.262646) on the west side of the Kenai Peninsula. It lies along the shore of Cook Inlet between Salamatof to the south and the Swanson River to the northeast. It is bordered across the Swanson River by the Point Possession CDP. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Nikiski CDP has a total area of , of which are land and , or 8.57%, are water.
