Sir Michael St Edmund Burton KCVO CMG (born 1937) is a retired British diplomat. Michael Burton (judge)
Sir Michael John Burton (born 12 November 1946), styled Mr Justice Burton, is a former judge in the High Court of England and Wales. He was the President of the Investigatory Powers Tribunal between October 2013 and September 2018, having been vice-president since its inception in 2000, the Chair of the Central Arbitration Committee for over 17 years (2000 to 2017) and the former President of the Employment Appeal Tribunal (2002–2005), which was reformed under his presidency. He was educated at Eton College and Balliol College, Oxford. Prior to his judicial appointment, in 1998, he was head of Littleton Chambers (1991–1998). He was appointed KC in 1984. Until January 2011 Burton was Chairman of the High Court Judges Association and served as Treasurer of Gray's Inn in 2012. Michael Burton (born February 1, 1992) is an American football fullback for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Rutgers, and was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins. Michael James Burton (born 5 November 1969) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Birmingham City and Shrewsbury Town. He played as a midfielder. Burton was born in Tamworth, Staffordshire. He joined Birmingham City as a YTS trainee in 1986, and turned professional the following year. He made his first-team debut as a substitute in the League Cup in September 1988, and his first appearance in the Second Division on 25 March 1989, coming on as substitute for Gary Childs in a 2–0 defeat away to Leicester City. Michael Leigh Burton (born August 4, 1941, in Alhambra, California) is an American politician. He served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 1985–1995 and was Speaker Pro-tempore (temporarily) in the 1991 session. He was the Executive Officer of Metro, a regional government in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area, from 1995-2003. He was a member of the original Metro Council (elected in 1978) and served until 1982. He was also vice provost and executive director of Portland State University's school of Extended Studies from 2003 to 2011. Following an audit over his travel expenses by PSU, he resigned from the university in June 2011 after being threatened to be put on an administrative leave. He was convicted of official misconduct in 2012 for falsely claiming his pleasure trip to Europe in 2010 as a work related expense. Michael Alan Burton (born 18 December 1945, in Maidenhead) is a former England, English rugby union footballer, who won a reputation as an uncompromising Prop (rugby union), prop forward for Gloucester R.F.C., Gloucester, England national rugby union team, England and the British and Irish Lions. Club career Burton arrived at Kingsholm from the local club Longlevens RFC and made his debut in the Gloucester front row at the age of 18 on 14 November 1964. He went on to make 366 appearances before retiring in 1978. He was captain of Gloucester in the 1975 season and played 50 times at provincial level for Gloucestershire including 39 appearances in the County Championship, winning it four times and leading the county pack in a crushing 62-10 victory over Japan at Kingsholm in September 1976. Michael Jay Burton (born July 3, 1947) is an American swimmer, three-time Olympic champion, and former world record-holder in two freestyle distance events. When he was an eighth grader he was hit by a furniture truck while riding a bicycle with a friend. Earlier he loved to play football and basketball, but the injuries due to this accident made him abandon contact sports, and left swimming as one of the few fitness options. Burton graduated from El Camino High School. He won 10 AAU titles, and while at UCLA Burton was a NCCAA champion five times. These included the 500 Free (1970), 1650 Free (1967, 1968, 1970), and 200 Fly (1970), which also became an All-American for these events. Michael St John Whitehead Burton (born 14 February 1944) is a Zimbabwean former first-class cricketer. Burton was born in February 1944 at Bulawayo, in what was then a part of Southern Rhodesia. He was educated at Umtali Boys' High School. Burton was selected to represent a South African Schools XI in cricket, before gaining first-class experience with Eastern Province. He debuted for Eastern Province against the touring Marylebone Cricket Club at Port Elizabeth in 1964. He played first-class cricket intermittently for Eastern Province until November 1967, making five appearances.
