Mike Buchanan (politician)
Gordon Michael Alexander Buchanan (born 8 December 1957) founded and has since either led or chaired the minor political party, Justice for Men and Boys (and the Women Who Love Them) (J4MB), in the United Kingdom. He is also a media commentator for the men's rights movement. Career Buchanan was a company director for Link Procurement Services Ltd from 1999 to 2010, and also for Legal Procurement Services Ltd from 2005 to 2008. He also worked as a consultant for the Conservative Party, but left the party in 2009 after David Cameron announced his approval of all-women shortlists for selecting parliamentary candidates, accusing Cameron of being "relentlessly pro-female and anti-male" in his policies and comments. An election commission is a body charged with overseeing the implementation of electioneering process of any country. The formal names of election commissions vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and may be styled an electoral commission, a central or state election commission, an election board, an electoral council or an electoral court. A Voice for Men, also known as AVfM, AVFM or AV4M, is a United States-based for-profit limited liability company and online publication founded in 2009 by Paul Elam. A proponent of the men's rights movement, or "Men's Human Rights Activism", it is the largest and most influential men's rights website. Its editorial position is strongly antifeminist and frequently accuses some feminists of being misandrists on the basis of their actions. About A Voice for Men hosts radio shows, has a forum and posts articles on its website. It occasionally features groups. AVFM's staff members and contributors are unpaid volunteers with the exception of the founder. Anna Mary Soubry (; born 7 December 1956) is a British barrister, journalist and former politician who was Member of Parliament (MP) for Broxtowe from 2010 to 2019. Known for her support of pro-European policies, she was originally elected as a Conservative but left the party to join Change UK in 2019. Born in Lincoln, Soubry was raised in Nottinghamshire and read law at the University of Birmingham. 2015 United Kingdom General Election
The 2015 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday, 7 May 2015 to elect 650 members to the House of Commons. It was the first and only general election held at the end of a Parliament under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011. Local elections took place in most areas on the same day. Polls and commentators had predicted the outcome would be too close to call and would result in a second consecutive hung parliament whose composition would be either similar to or more complicated than the 2010 general election. Opinion polls were eventually proven to have underestimated the Conservative vote as the party, having governed in coalition with the Liberal Democrats since 2010, won 330 seats and 36.9% of the vote share, giving them a small overall majority of 12 seats (including Speaker John Bercow—ten seats without him) and their first outright win since 1992.
