Mike Berticelli Award
The Mike Berticelli Excellence in Coaching Education Award or the Mike Berticelli Award is a national recognition given by United Soccer Coaches to present to an individual in the USC Academy staff who was provided "positive contributions to the game of soccer and excellence in coaching education". The award is named in Mike Berticelli who was the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's soccer program and died in 2000 while serving as the United Soccer Coaches' (then National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Vice President of Education. The award was first given following the 2000 NCAA men's and women's soccer season to Jim Lennox. United Soccer Coaches
The United Soccer Coaches (formerly known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)) is an organization of American soccer coaches founded in 1941. It is the largest soccer coaches organization in the world, with more than 30,000 members. It offers training courses for both beginning and experienced coaches and a wide range of award programs. Rare among sports organizations, it serves its sport for both men/boys and women/girls. Lynn Berling-Manuel is the current Chief Executive Officer. The NSCAA was rebranded as United Soccer Coaches on August 2, 2017. Chico State Wildcats Women's Soccer
The Chico State Wildcats (also CSU Chico Wildcats and Cal State Chico Wildcats) are the athletic teams that represent California State University, Chico, located in Chico, California, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Wildcats compete as an associate member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association for all 13 varsity sports. The SMU Mustangs men's soccer team represents Southern Methodist University in men's college soccer. The team currently competes in The American Athletic Conference. The Mustangs made their most recent appearance in the NCAA National Tournament in 2019, their third consecutive tournament appearance and fourth in five seasons. Schellas Hyndman
Schellas Hyndman (born November 4, 1951) is a retired soccer coach. He was previously head coach of FC Dallas in Major League Soccer. Despite having a limited career as a professional athlete, Hyndman is one of the most successful college soccer coaches in American sports history, compiling a 466–122–49 record as the head coach at Southern Methodist University. The Middlebury Panthers are the 31 varsity teams of Middlebury College that compete in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. The Panthers lead the NESCAC in total number of national championships, having won 34 team titles since the conference lifted its ban on NCAA play in 1994. Nancy Feldman (soccer)
Nancy G. Feldman (October 4, 1922 – February 17, 2014) was a civil rights activist and longtime educator from the U.S. state of Illinois. Feldman taught at the University of Tulsa for thirty-seven years and lectured across the United States and internationally. Feldman was inducted to the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame in 1995. Her advocating for the expansion of art education in Tulsa public schools remains one of her biggest legacies. Feldman and her husband traveled to some of the most remote locations in the world during their retirement and worked to connect Tulsa with the world through the Tulsa Global Alliance. The Penn State Nittany Lions men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Pennsylvania State University. The team is a member of the Big Ten Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
