Mikael Blixt
Mikael Blixt (born 8 August 1964) is a former speedway rider from Sweden. Speedway career Blixt rode in the top tier of British Speedway during the 1982 British League season, riding for the Poole Pirates. He returned nine years later to compete in the 1991 British League season for the Berwick Bandits. He stood as reserve for the final of the Speedway World Championship The World Championship of Speedway is an international competition between the highest-ranked motorcycle speedway riders of the world, run under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The first official champions ... in the 1991 Individual Speedway World Championship following a successful qualification through the Nordic final and his high placing in the World semi final. Nyköping () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Nyköping Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden with 32,759 inhabitants as of 2017. The city is also the capital of Södermanland County. Including Arnö, the locality on the southern shore of the bay just a couple of kilometres from the city centre, Nyköping would have above 36,000 inhabitants. Commonly, Arnö is referred to as a part of the city proper. It forms a wider conurbation with the neighbouring minor municipality and town of Oxelösund south of its outskirts. 1991 British League Season
The 1991 British League season was the 57th season of the top tier of Motorcycle speedway, speedway in the United Kingdom and the 27th known as the British League. Summary Wolverhampton Wolves won the league for the first time in their history. The club which was first founded in 1928 had only ever won the Provincial Midland League in 1962 and the Provincial League (speedway), Provincial League in 1963. They were led by their American star Sam Ermolenko, who became the first rider to push Hans Nielsen (speedway rider), Hans Nielsen from the top of the averages after eight consecutive years at the top. The Wolves team relied on two more American riders, Ronnie Correy and Sam's younger brother Charles Ermolenko, in addition to Englishman Graham Jones (speedway rider), Graham Jones to seal the title from Bradford.
