Mihir Goswami
Mihir Goswami is an Indian politician from the state of West Bengal. He was a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from 1996–2001 and 2016–2021, from the Cooch Behar Dakshin constituency. He was the chairman of NBSTC (North Bengal State Transport Corporation). He was a member of Trinamool Congress party until 2020, when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. He currently represents the Natabari. Political career He was District Youth Congress President in undivided Congress (When Mamata Banerjee State Youth Congress President). He won the Cooch Behar Dakshin (Vidhan Sabha constituency) seat in 1996 as an Indian National Congress candidate. Later, he joined the All India Trinamool Congress in 1998. Later, he won the same seat again in the 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. North Bengal State Transport Corporation
North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) is a state government run transport corporation in West Bengal, India. It plies buses mainly in North Bengal but operates services to other parts of West Bengal and neighboring states like Sikkim, Assam, and Bihar . The corporation runs premium long haul buses as well as local buses. It is one of the most favoured bus operators in West Bengal. Incidents * In Early October 2021, a NBSTC bus rammed into a standing truck in Murshidabad, killing 3 people and leaving 10 injured. 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election
The 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election for 292 of the 294 constituencies in West Bengal was held between 27 March to 29 April 2021 in eight phases. Voting for the two remaining constituencies was delayed to 30 September 2021. The incumbent All India Trinamool Congress government led by Mamata Banerjee won the election by a large margin, despite opinion polls generally predicting a close race against the Bharatiya Janata Party, which became the official opposition with 77 seats. The Indian Secular Front won one seat, and the Indian National Congress and the left parties did not win any seats. 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election
A Legislative Assembly election was held in 2016 for the 294 seats (out of 295 seats) of the '' Vidhan Sabha'' (Vidhān Sabhā) in the state of West Bengal in India. The All India Trinamool Congress under Mamata Banerjee won 211 seats, and thus was reelected with an enhanced majority. Like in the 2011 election, the poll was held in six phases, with the first phase divided into two days. The first phase was held in Naxalite-Maoist affected Red corridor areas with two polling dates: 4 April and 11 April. The other phases were held on 17, 21, 25, 30 April and 5 May. Indian Youth Congress
The Indian Youth Congress is the youth wing of the Indian National Congress party. The Indian Youth Congress was a department of the Indian National Congress from the period just after the Partition of India in 1947 until the late 1960s.
