Migues
Migues is a small city in the Canelones Department of southern Uruguay. Migues is also the name of the municipality to which the town belongs. Geography Location The city is located on the intersection of Route 80 with Routes 81, 88 and 108, about southeast of Tala, Uruguay, Tala and west of Montes, Uruguay, Montes. History On 27 June 1870, a "Pueblo" (village) named "Carmen" was created by the Act of Ley Nº 1.112 on the land belonging to Nicasia Figueredo de Migues, between two streams of the SolÃs river. It probably corresponds to the village eventually named "Migues". On 15 May 1925, its status was elevated to "Villa" (town) by the Act of Ley Nº 7.837. On 26 June 1970, its status was further elevated to "Ciudad" (city) by the Act of Ley Nº 13.866. Population According to the 2011 census, Migues had a population of 2,109. Canelones Department
The Departamento de Canelones ( es, Departamento de Canelones; ) is one of the 19 uruguayan departments. With an area of and 518,154 inhabitants, it is located in the south of Uruguay. Its capital is Canelones. Geography and climate Neighbouring departments are Maldonado and Lavalleja to the East, Florida to the North, San José to the West, and Montevideo to the South. Part of the southern border is formed by the RÃo de la Plata. It is the second smallest department of the country after that of Montevideo, but the second largest in population. Montes, Uruguay
Montes is a village in the east of Canelones Department of southern Uruguay. Montes is also the name of the municipality to which the town belongs. Geography Location The village is located on Route 81, east of Migues and about southwest of the city of Minas (via Routes 8 and 81). The border with Lavalleja Department is the stream Arroyo SolÃs Grande, which flows by the east limits of the town. History Montes was founded in November 1891. Its status was elevated to "Pueblo" (village) on 3 November 1952 by the Act of Ley Nº 11.878. Population According to the 2011 census, Montes had a population of 1,760. Uruguay consists of 19 departments (''departamentos''). Each department has a legislature called a Departmental Board. The ''Intendente'' is the department's chief executive. History The first division of the Republic into six departments occurred on 27 January 1816. In February of the same year, two more departments were formed, and in 1828 one more was added. When the First Constitution was signed in 1830, there were nine departments. These were the departments of Montevideo, Maldonado, Canelones, San José, Colonia, Soriano, Paysandú, Durazno and Cerro Largo. Uruguay's calling code is +598. Since 2010, national long distance calling was eliminated, thus there are no area codes in each city. Landline telephony ANTEL (Spanish abbreviation for National Administration of Telecommunications) is Uruguay's state-owned company for telecommunications. Previously in Uruguay, phone numbers used to have between 4 and 7 digits. To make a local phone call, you only had to dial those digits. To make a call between two cities from different departments, you had to dial zero, plus area code, plus phone number. As from August 29, 2010, all phone numbers have 8 digits, according to the new National Numbering Plan. Zero prior to area code was eliminated. ''Nuestra'' is the debut studio album of the Venezuelan rock band La Vida Bohème, released in August 2010. Recorded and produced by Rudy Pagliuca, it is a free download on the website of the record label All of the Above. The album was nominated for "Best Latin Pop, Rock or Urban Album" in the 54th Grammy Awards. The two singles from this album are "Radio Capital" and "Danz!". Background and Recording The album was recorded in Caracas in 2009, on fairly independent terms. Guitarist Daniel De Sousa happened to be studying engineering at the time, and took on designing a distortion pedal that was used on the album. The synths were designed/programmed by fellow Venezuelan artist Arca, then known as Nuuro.
