Miguel Ángel Espino
Miguel Ángel Espino (17 December 1902 – 1 October 1967) was a Salvadoran writer, journalist and lawyer. Life Born into a literary family, Espino was the younger brother of the lyric poet Alfredo Espino. His grandfather was Don Antonio Najarro (1850-1890), also a published poet. He married María Luisa Nieto. During the 1920s, he worked as a journalist for several newspapers, including La Prensa Gráfica. He joined the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the University of El Salvador in 1921. Alfredo Espino (1900—August 1928) was a poet from El Salvador. Born in Ahuachapán, his only book is ''Jícaras Tristes'' (Sad Vessels), a collection of 96 poems. It is one of the most published books of poetry in El Salvador. Espino died in San Salvador. His poetry has been described as part of the El Salvadoran development of ''costumbrismo ''Costumbrismo'' (sometimes anglicized as costumbrism, with the adjectival form costumbrist) is the literary or pictorial interpretation of local everyday life, mannerisms, and customs, primarily in the Hispanic scene, and particularly in the 19t ...''. Antonio Najarro (born 22 November 1975 in Madrid, Spain) is a Spanish flamenco dancer and figure skating choreographer. ''La Prensa Gráfica'' commonly known as ''La Prensa'' is a daily newspaper published in El Salvador by Grupo Dutriz. ''La Prensa'' is a mainstream metropolitan newspaper, and became one of the first newspapers to print in color in Central America. History Brothers Antonio Dutriz and José Dutriz formed a commencial partnership known as Dutríz Hermanos on October 14, 1903. ''La Prensa'' was then founded by José and Antonio Dutriz, and its first issue was printed and distributed on May 10, 1915. The first issue had four standard size pages.
