Male (symbol: ♂) is the sex of an organism that produces the gamete (sex cell) known as sperm, which fuses with the larger female gamete, or ovum, in the process of fertilization. Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (; 29 September 1547 (assumed) – 22 April 1616 Old Style and New Style dates, NS) was an Early Modern Spanish writer widely regarded as the greatest writer in the Spanish language and one of the world's pre-eminent novelists. He is best known for his novel ''Don Quixote'', a work often cited as both the first modern novel and one of the pinnacles of world literature. Much of his life was spent in poverty and obscurity, which led to many of his early works being lost. Despite this, his influence and literary contribution are reflected by the fact that Spanish is often referred to as "the language of Cervantes". Don (honorific), Don Miguel Gregorio Antonio Ignacio Hidalgo y Costilla y Gallaga Mandarte Villaseñor (8 May 1753 – 30 July 1811), more commonly known as Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla or Miguel Hidalgo (), was a Catholic priest, leader of the Mexican War of Independence and recognized as the Father of the Nation. A professor at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, Colegio de San Nicolás Obispo in Morelia, Valladolid, Hidalgo was influenced by Age of Enlightenment, Enlightenment ideas, which contributed to his ouster in 1792. He served in a church in Colima and then in Dolores Hidalgo, Dolores. After his arrival, he was shocked by the rich soil he had found. He tried to help the poor by showing them how to grow olives and grapes, but in New Spain (modern Mexico) growing these crops was discouraged or prohibited by colonial authorities to prevent competition with imports from Spain. Miguel Díaz-Canel
Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel y Bermúdez (; born 20 April 1960) also known as MADCB, is a politician and engineer who is the third first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba. Díaz-Canel succeeds the brothers Fidel and Raúl Castro, making him the first non-Castro leader of Cuba since the revolution. Díaz-Canel's leadership thus represents a non-dynastic form of succession for the party as well as for the state, and the end of Castro leadership in Cuba. Díaz-Canel has been a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party since 2003, and served as Minister of Higher Education from 2009 to 2012. Miguel Brugueras
Miguel Brugueras del Valle (1939–2006) was a Cuban politician and diplomat, and a "devout fidelista". During the dictatorship of Batista he was an activist. In 1959, he became a diplomat. Brugueras was a diplomat in Paris (1973–1974), then Ambassador to Lebanon (1974–1977), Panama (1977–1979) and Argentina, and later Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism. He directed the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina. In 1979, Brugueras and his wife divorced due to political differences, and she and their two daughters returned to Cuba. Miguel Boyer (5 February 1939 – 29 September 2014) was a Spanish economist and politician, who served as minister of economy, treasury and commerce from 1982 to 1985. Early life and education Boyer was born in St. Jean de Luz, France, on 5 February 1939. He was a graduate of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid where he studied economics. He also received a degree in physics from the same university. Career Boyer worked at different banks and institutions. He served as the director of planning for the Unión Explosivos Río Tinto and later as a senior economist at the Bank of Spain. He became the deputy director of the national industrial institute and then the director of the institute in 1974. Next he worked at the state-owned hydrocarbons institute.
