Amanda Miguel (born 1 June 1956) is an Argentine singer. Early life Miguel was born in Gaiman, in the Chubut Province in Argentina, June 1, 1956. Career At 17, she met Diego Verdaguer, a man five years her senior, whom she would later marry. At this time, Verdaguer was already an established artist, and she joined his musical group called Mediterráneo. The group enjoyed success in Los Angeles, California, but after being discovered by a Univision network record executive, she launched her own solo career with help from San Diego. Miguel's first album, ''El Sonido Vol. 1'', was recorded in 1981, and released a year later. Implementing a different sound and style than Mediterráneo, her album was a success. Follow-up albums were released a year later. Ana Victoria Boccadoro Miguel (born December 8, 1983) is an American and Mexican singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer. She is the daughter of the Mexican singers Amanda Miguel and Diego Verdaguer. In 2012 she was nominated for a Latin Grammy while most of her success is in Mexico. Ángel Miguel
Ángel Miguel (27 December 1929 – 13 April 2009) was a Spanish professional golfer. He is often regarded as one of the pioneers of golf in Spain. Miguel was born in Madrid. He won 12 major tournaments around the world during the 1950s and 1960s, including the Spanish Open in 1961 and 1964, the French Open in 1956 and the Portuguese Open on three occasions. He also won the Spanish Professionals Championship a record six times. Miguel represented his country in the Canada Cup on nine occasions. He claimed the individual honours in 1958, and also finished as runners-up in the team event partnered by his brother Sebastián, who also had a successful professional career. Edward "Ted" Andrew Miguel (born 1974) is the Oxfam Professor of Environmental and Resource Economics in the Department of Economics at University of California, Berkeley, US. He is the founder and faculty director of the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at U.C. Berkeley. His research focuses on African economic development and includes work on the economic causes and consequences of violence; the impact of ethnic divisions on local collective action; and interactions between health, education, environment, and productivity for the poor. He has conducted fieldwork in Kenya, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and India. More recently, Miguel has focused his efforts on increasing transparency in social science research. Girlyn Miguel (born 1948) is a Vincentian educator and politician who served in the Parliament of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines from 1998 until 2015. A member of the Unity Labour Party, Miguel also served as Deputy Prime Minister from 2010 to 2015, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Early life and career Miguel was born in 1948 in Mesopotamia on the island of Saint Vincent, then a colony within the British Windward Islands.
