Midnight Molly
''Midnight Molly'' is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by Lloyd Ingraham and starring Evelyn Brent in a dual role. A print of the film exists in the BFI National Archive. Plot As described in a review in a film magazine, Midnight Molly (Brent), female their, surprised by detectives as she is stealing a painting, escapes but is rundown by an automobile and is taken to the hospital. Margaret (Brent), wife of District Attorney John Warren (Gordon), elopes with adventurer George Calvin (Bary). John is called to he hospital and finds that Molly is the double of his wife. Hoping to avert a scandal, he takes her to his home. Molly recovers and keeps up the deception. John runs for governor. Calvin hears of this and, seeing a chance for blackmail, returns. Detective Daley is suspicious of Molly and hopes to trap her by taking her fingerprints. However, Daley's stoolpigeon squeals on his plans. Lloyd Ingraham
Lloyd Chauncey Ingraham (November 30, 1874 – April 4, 1956) was an American film actor and director. Biography Born in Rochelle, Illinois, Ingraham appeared in more than 280 films between 1912 and 1950, as well as directing more than 100 films between 1913 and 1930. Films for which he is known include ''Scaramouche'' (1923), ''The Padrone's Ward'' (1914) and '' Rainbow Valley'' (1935). He performed in several films with John Wayne including '' Rainbow Valley'' (1935), '' Empty Saddles'' (1936), '' Westward Ho'' (1935), ''The Lonely Trail'' (1936) and ''Conflict'' (1936). He died of pneumonia in the Motion Picture Hospital at Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, aged 82. His remains are buried in Chapel of the Pines Crematory. BFI National Archive
The BFI National Archive is a department of the British Film Institute, and one of the largest film archives in the world. It was founded as the National Film Library in 1935; its first curator was Ernest Lindgren. In 1955, its name became the National Film Archive, and, in 1992, the National Film and Television Archive. It was renamed BFI National Archive in 2006. It collects, preserves, restores, and shares the films and television programmes which have helped to shape and record British life and times since the development of cine film in the late 19th century.
