Midland is a provincial electoral district (riding) in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was created by redistribution in 2008. The riding is centred on the community of Carman. Following the 2018 redistribution, the riding also began to include the community of Morris. Blaine Pedersen is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in the 2007 provincial election for the electoral division of Carman. Pederson is a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. Pedersen was re-elected in the new Midland riding in the 2011, and 2016 elections. Morris is a small town in the Pembina Valley region of Manitoba, Canada, located 51 km south of Winnipeg and 42 km north of Emerson. Morris is home to 1,885 people (2016). Named after Alexander Morris, the second Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba. Highway 75, which turns into Interstate 29, is the major highway which runs from Winnipeg to Missouri. Pembina was a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. 1878-1879 The original riding of Pembina was created in 1878, in what was then the southwestern corner of the province. It was eliminated in 1879. It was created by redistribution in 1999, with territory from Lakeside, Morris, and the now-defunct riding of Gladstone. Carman was located in the southern region of Manitoba. It was bordered to the north by Portage la Prairie, to the west by Turtle Mountain, to the east by Morris, and to the south by Pembina and Emerson. The riding was mostly rural. Turtle Mountain is a provincial electoral district in the Canadian province of Manitoba.
