Middle School Cadet Corps
The Middle School Cadet Corps (MSCC) are cadet programs for middle school students in the United States. Per 2005, Chicago had 26 Middle School Cadet Corps enlisting more than 850 children, overseen by the JROTC program. Students from the age of 11 can participate in the program, or younger if they have older siblings in the program. Cadet
A cadet is an officer trainee or candidate. The term is frequently used to refer to those training to become an officer in the military, often a person who is a junior trainee. Its meaning may vary between countries which can include youths in voluntary youth organisations. Young Marines
The Young Marines is a youth program in the United States and Japan open to all youth between the ages of 8 to 18 or high school graduation (whichever is later, not to exceed 20 years of age). The Young Marines program is the leader in youth Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) education and has received many accolades for its DDR programs (drug prevention and resistance). It has been awarded the United States Department Of Defense's Fulcrum Shield Award 12 times, with the last one awarded in 2022. The program has partnered up with National Family Partnership to help keep kids off drugs. The Young Marines take part in Red Ribbon Week and hold activities and events that take place during that week in October to push drug prevention and resistance efforts nationally. Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps
The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC -- commonly pronounced "JAY-rotsee") is a federal program sponsored by the United States Armed Forces in high schools and also in some middle schools across the United States and at US military bases across the world. The program was originally created as part of the National Defense Act of 1916 and later expanded under the 1964 ROTC Vitalization Act. Channelview
Channelview is a census-designated place (CDP) in the U.S. state of Texas on the eastside of Houston, Harris County, Texas, Harris County. Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a congressionally chartered, federally supported non-profit corporation that serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force (USAF). Navy League Cadet Corps
The U.S. Navy League Cadet Corps (also known as the United States Naval League Cadet Corps or "NLCC") is a junior version of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) program developed for younger cadets, aged 11 through 13, under the auspices of the Navy League of the United States. The mission of the NLCC is to train cadets about the seagoing military services, community service, citizenship, and an understanding of discipline and teamwork so that they are prepared for membership in the NSCC. While NLCC cadets can go into the NSCC when they turn 13, they may also elect to remain in the NLCC until age 14, when they must either transfer into the NSCC, or leave the program.
