Microchip (comics)
David Linus "Microchip" Lieberman (often known as Micro) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was an ally of Punisher, The Punisher for many years and assisted the Punisher by building weapons, supplying technology, hacking into computers, and providing friendship. Microchip gradually evolved from the Punisher's friend to a bitter enemy after their final falling out. Micro was portrayed by Wayne Knight in 2008's ''Punisher: War Zone'' and by Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the The Punisher (TV series), television adaption of the first season set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Publication history Microchip first appeared in ''The Punisher (1987 series), The Punisher'' vol. 2 #4 (Nov. 1987 in comics, 1987) and was created by Mike Baron and Klaus Janson. The Punisher (TV Series)
''Marvel's The Punisher'' is an American television series created by Steve Lightfoot for the streaming service Netflix, based on the Marvel Comics character Punisher. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), acknowledging the continuity of the franchise's films and other television series. It is a spin-off from the first Marvel Netflix series, ''Daredevil'' (2015–2018). ''The Punisher'' was produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios and Bohemian Risk Productions, with Lightfoot serving as showrunner. John Romita, Jr
John Salvatore Romita (; born August 17, 1956), known professionally as John Romita Jr., is an American comics artist best known for his extensive work for Marvel Comics from the 1970s to the 2010s. He is the son of artist John Romita Sr. Early life John Romita Jr. is the son of Virginia (Bruno) and comic book artist John Romita Sr., one of the signature ''Spider-Man'' artists since the 1960s. He studied advertising art and design at Farmingdale State College in East Farmingdale, New York, graduating in 1976. Career Romita Jr.'s first contribution to Marvel Comics was at the age of 13 with the creation of the Prowler in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' #78 (Nov. 1969). Chuck Dixon
Charles Dixon (born April 14, 1954) is an American comic book writer, best known for his work on the Marvel Comics character the Punisher and on the DC Comics characters Batman, Nightwing, and Robin in the 1990s and early 2000s. Early life Dixon was born in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Upper Darby, reading comics of all genres. He is a graduate of Upper Darby High School (1972). Career 1980s Chuck Dixon's earliest comics work was writing ''Evangeline'' for Comico Comics in 1984 and then for First Comics. Editor Larry Hama hired him to write back-up stories for Marvel Comics' '' Savage Sword of Conan''. The Punisher War Zone (1992 Series)
''The Punisher War Zone'' is a comic book series published by Marvel Comics about the vigilante The Punisher. The series was written and drawn by several artists during its run. The series lasted for 41 issues. It was the first series of ''The Punisher War Zone'' title history and lasted from 1992 to 1995. The vast majority of the series was written by Chuck Dixon. Besides John Romita Jr. who worked a lot on the series, several other artists painted the covers, among them Rainier "Rain" Beredo, John Buscema and Joe Kubert. Plot The series was split up in different story arcs which tended to last several issues. In media, a spin-off (or spinoff) is a radio program, television program, film, video game or any narrative work, derived from already existing works that focus on more details and different aspects from the original work (e.g. particular topics, characters or events). One of the earliest spin-offs of the modern media era, if not the first, happened in 1941 when the supporting character Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve from the old time radio comedy show ''Fibber McGee and Molly'' became the star of his own program ''The Great Gildersleeve'' (1941–1957). In genre fiction, the term parallels its usage in television; it is usually meant to indicate a substantial ''change in narrative viewpoint and activity'' from that (previous) storyline based on the activities of the series' principal protagonist and so is a shift to that action and overall narrative thread of some other protagonist, which now becomes the central or main thread (storyline) of the new sub-series.
