Mickleover Football Club is a Association football, football club based in the Mickleover suburb of Derby, Derbyshire, England. They are currently members of the and play at Station Road. The club were formed as Mickleover Old Boys in 1948, before becoming Mickleover Sports in the 1990s. In 2020 the club dropped "Sports" from its name. Mickleover is a large suburban village of Derby, in Derbyshire, England. It is west of Derby city centre, northeast of Burton-upon-Trent, west of Nottingham city centre, southeast of Ashbourne and northeast of Uttoxeter. History The earliest recorded mention of Mickleover (and its close neighbour, Littleover) comes in 1011, when an early charter has King Aethelred granting Morcar, a high-ranking Mercian Thegn, land along the Trent and in Eastern Derbyshire, including land in the Mickleover and Littleover areas, consolidating estates he had inherited in North-East Derbyshire from his kinsman through marriage, Wulfric Spot, who founded Burton Abbey on the Staffs-Derbys border. Belper Town F
Belper is a town and civil parish in the local government district of Amber Valley in Derbyshire, England, located about north of Derby on the River Derwent. As well as Belper itself, the parish also includes the village of Milford and the hamlets of Bargate, Blackbrook and Makeney. As of the 2011 Census, the parish had a population of 21,823. Charlie Palmer (footballer)
Charlie Palmer (born 10 July 1963) is an English ex-professional footballer who played in the 1980s and 90s for a variety of clubs in England at right-back and latterly centre-back. Playing career Born in Aylesbury, Palmer started his football career as an apprentice at Watford, managed by Graham Taylor. He played 18 matches for Watford in all competitions between 1981 and 1984, including four in the UEFA Cup. In July 1984, Palmer moved to Derby County on a free transfer. Under the management of Arthur Cox, he was part of the team that won the Football League Second Division in the 1986–87 season. Ricky Ravenhill
Richard John Ravenhill (born 16 January 1981) is an English former professional footballer who is the assistant manager of Mickleover. As a player, he was a midfielder, who began his professional career with Barnsley in 2000 after a short spell with New Zealand club Napier City Rovers. Ravenhill was released midway through the 2001–02 season and transferred to the then non-league side Doncaster Rovers. In his second season with Rovers, the club were promoted from the Conference having beaten Dagenham & Redbridge in the 2003 Football Conference play-off final. John Matthew McGrath (born 27 March 1980) is an Irish footballer who plays as a midfielder and is player-manager of Northern Premier League side Mickleover. Club career Born in Limerick, County Limerick, McGrath played local schoolboy football with Templeglantine and Corbally, before joining Belvedere in 1996. Steve Perryman
Stephen John Perryman MBE (born 21 December 1951) is an English former professional footballer who is best-known for his successes with Tottenham Hotspur during the 1970s and early 1980s. He has won the FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Cup all twice with Tottenham in his 17 years at the club. Mason Rhys Warren (born 28 March 1997) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Mickleover Sports. He played professionally for Rotherham United in 2016. Andrew Dales (born 13 November 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays for Mickleover as a winger. Club career Born in Derby, Dales spent 10 years with the youth team of Derby County after joining at the age of 9. He was offered a professional contract by Derby in 2013. Callum Louis Chettle (born 28 August 1996) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Basford United. After leaving Nottingham Forest for Ilkeston at the age of 15, he moved up the divisions to join Nuneaton Town in July 2015, and then Peterborough United in January 2016. Philip Alexander Watt (born 10 January 1988) is an English footballer who plays for Belper Town. He previously played in the Football League for Lincoln City.
