''Mickey's Birthday Party'' is a 1942 American animated short film directed by Riley Thomson, produced by Walt Disney Productions and distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. The 114th short to feature Mickey Mouse, it was released on February 7, 1942. The animated film was directed by Riley Thomson and animated by Les Clark, James Moore, Ken Muse, Armin Shaffair, Riley Thompson, Bernie Wolf, and Marvin Woodward. It was the 116th short in the ''Mickey Mouse'' film series to be released, and the first for that year. Riley Thomson
Riley A. Thomson Jr. (October 5, 1912 – January 26, 1960) was an American animator and comics artist who spent most of his career working with Walt Disney films and characters. He directed six Disney short films including ''The Nifty Nineties'' and '' Symphony Hour''. Career Thomson began his career in 1930 at the ill-fated studio of Romer Grey. In 1935, he joined Leon Schlesinger Productions (Warner Bros.) as an animator. While there he worked on '' Merrie Melodies'' cartoons and focused on the character Porky Pig. The following year Thomson went to work at Walt Disney Productions. He was first an animator and worked on ''Mickey Mouse'', ''Silly Symphonies'', and ''Donald Duck'' short films. He also worked on the feature-length film ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'' (1937) and "''The Sorcerer's Apprentice''" segment of '' Fantasia'' (1940). Goofy
Goofy is a cartoon character created by The Walt Disney Company. He is a tall, Anthropomorphism, anthropomorphic dog who typically wears a turtle neck and vest, with pants, shoes, white gloves, and a tall hat originally designed as a rumpled fedora. Goofy is a close friend of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, and Max Goof's father. In physics, mathematics, and related fields, a wave is a propagating dynamic disturbance (change from equilibrium) of one or more quantities. ''The Reluctant Dragon'' is a 1941 American comedy film produced by Walt Disney, directed by Alfred Werker, and released by RKO Radio Pictures on June 27, 1941. Essentially a tour of the then-new Walt Disney Studios facility in Burbank, California, the film stars radio comedian Robert Benchley and many Disney staffers such as Ward Kimball, Fred Moore, Norman Ferguson, Clarence Nash, and Walt Disney, all as themselves. The first twenty minutes of the film are in black-and-white, and the remainder is in Technicolor. Ward Kimball
Ward Walrath Kimball (March 4, 1914 – July 8, 2002) was an American animator employed by Walt Disney Animation Studios. He was part of Walt Disney's main team of animators, known collectively as Disney's Nine Old Men. His films have been honored with two Academy Awards for Best Animated Short Film. Outside of his job as an animator, Kimball was a railroad enthusiast as well as a talented jazz trombonist. He founded and led the seven-piece Dixieland band Firehouse Five Plus Two, in which he played the trombone. Early life Kimball was born on March 4, 1914, in Minneapolis. His father was a salesman who traveled widely. He grew up in the Midwest, often residing with his grandparents. ''The Whoopee Party'' is a Mickey Mouse short animated film first released on September 17, 1932. It was the 46th Mickey Mouse short, and the tenth of that year. Plot Mickey Mouse and friends have a party in which Minnie Mouse is playing the piano while Mickey, Goofy (then Dippy Dawg), and Horace Horsecollar are preparing some snacks. Meanwhile, a police group, who they have been called for an emergency recently, have also been invited to the party. This short was also featured in the ''House of Mouse'' episode "Dennis the Duck". ''The Birthday Party'' is a Mickey Mouse short animated film first released on January 2, 1931, as part of the ''Mickey Mouse'' film series. It was the twenty-fifth Mickey Mouse short to be produced, the first of that year. Plot Minnie Mouse throws a surprise birthday party for Mickey, and he is surrounded by a circle of friends singing and dancing his praises. A pig chef offers him a birthday cake, but Mickey blows so hard that all of the cake ends up on the pig's face. Mickey opens his present—a small piano, to match Minnie's -- and the two mice play and sing "I Can't Give You Anything but Love, Baby". Then they play "Darktown Strutters' Ball" as the guests dance.
