Michael George Loughton (born 8 December 1942) is an English former professional association football, footballer who played in The Football League as a Defender (association football), defender. Club career Born in Colchester, Loughton appeared for local-Colchester based feeder clubs Eastern Gas and Colchester Casuals F.C., Colchester Casuals, before signing professional forms with hometown club Colchester United F.C., Colchester United in August 1961, after being signed to Colchester United by manager Benny Fenton upon leaving school in July 1958. On 7 November 1964, Loughton made his English Football League, Football League debut for Colchester, in a 6–3 Essex derby loss against rivals Southend United F.C., Southend United. Colchester
Colchester ( ) is a city in Essex, in the East of England. It had a population of 122,000 in 2011. The demonym is Colcestrian. Colchester occupies the site of Camulodunum, the first major city in Roman Britain and its first capital. Colchester therefore claims to be Britain's first city. Brian Snowdon
Brian Victor Snowdon (listed in some sources as Brian Snowden and also as Bryan, 1 January 1935 – 14 August 2023) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Blackpool, Portsmouth, Millwall and Crystal Palace as a defender. He also played non-league football for Margate and Brentwood and had a spell towards the end of his career with Detroit Cougars. Career Brian Snowdon was born in Bishop Auckland and began his youth career with Bishop Auckland BC before signing for Blackpool of the First Division in 1955. Between then and 1960 he made 18 appearances scoring the only goal of his senior professional career. In 1960, he moved to Portsmouth who had just been relegated from the First Division. At Portsmouth, his first-team opportunities improved, making 114 league appearances over the next four seasons but without scoring. John Still (footballer)
John Leonard Still (born 24 April 1950) is an English former footballer and manager. He is currently head of football at National League side Southend United. After his playing career was cut short by injury, Still began managing non-League clubs around his hometown area of East London, Essex and Kent, achieving title wins and promotions with Leytonstone & Ilford, Dartford, Maidstone United and Redbridge Forest. He was manager of Redbridge Forest when the club merged with Dagenham in 1992 to become its current incarnation – Dagenham & Redbridge. Still accepted his first job in the Football League in August 1994 at Peterborough United, but was sacked a year later. He joined Barnet in June 1997 and took the club to the play-offs twice, before leaving in 2002 after the club was relegated to the Football Conference. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. The 1972–73 Southern Football League season was the 70th in the history of the league, an English football competition. Kettering Town won the championship, winning their third Southern League title, whilst Atherstone Town, Grantham, Maidstone United and Tonbridge were all promoted to the Premier Division.
