Mick Hart
Michael James Hart (8 May 1970 – 23 August 2020) was an Australian musician. His debut album, ''Still the Flowers Bloom'' (March 2001), reached the ARIA Albums Chart top 100. It had been recorded in late 2000 with Jim Moginie (of Midnight Oil) producing. Hart's second album, ''Upside Down in the Full Face of Optimism'', was nominated for Best Blues & Roots Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2002. On 25 August 2020, it was reported that Hart had died. Gunnedah
Gunnedah is a town in north-eastern New South Wales, Australia and is the seat of the Gunnedah Shire local government area. In the the town recorded a population of 9,726. Gunnedah is situated within the Liverpool Plains, a fertile agricultural region, with 80% of the surrounding shire area devoted to farming. The Namoi River flows west then north-west through the town providing water beneficial to agricultural operations in the area. Jim Moginie
James Moginie (born 18 May 1956) is an Australian musician. He is best known for his work with Midnight Oil, of which he is a founding member, guitarist, keyboardist and leading songwriter. Career In addition to Midnight Oil, Moginie has worked and performed with many notable musicians from Australia and New Zealand, including Silverchair, Sarah Blasko, End of Fashion, Backsliders, Neil Murray, Kasey Chambers and Neil Finn. Moginie has also played live with The Family Dog comprising different members at times, including Trent Williamson, Kent Steedman, Paul Larsen Loughhead and Tim Kevin. He has also released four solo works. ARIA Award For Best Blues And Roots Album
The ARIA Music Award for Best Blues and Roots Album, is an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987. It is handed out by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), an organisation whose aim is "to advance the interests of the Australian record industry." To be eligible, the recording must be an album in the contemporary and traditional blues genres, and contemporary adaptations of Australian traditional music and/or folklore. The submitted work cannot be entered in other genre categories. The accolade is voted for by a judging school, which comprises between 40 and 100 members of representatives experienced in these genres, and is given to a solo artist or group who is either from Australia or an Australian resident.
