Michele Ferrari (born 26 March 1953) is an Italian physician, cycle sport, cycling coach and author, who is mostly known for his role in supplying bicycle racers with Performance-enhancing substance, performance-enhancing drugs, notably Erythropoietin, EPO. His most famous client was Lance Armstrong. Biography Ferrari was born in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, where he still lives. In 1978, he obtained his degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ferrara. His doctoral thesis concerned the measurement of anaerobic threshold in the sport of running. Ferrari was a consultant to the Italian Track and Field Federation (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera, FIDAL) from 1977 to 1980. VAM (bicycling)
VAM is the abbreviation for the Italian term ''velocità ascensionale media'', translated in English to mean "average ascent speed" or "mean ascent velocity", but usually referred to as VAM. It is also referred to by the English backronym "Vertical Ascent in Meters". The term, which was coined by Italian physician and cycling coach Michele Ferrari, is the speed of elevation gain, usually stated in units of metres per hour. Background VAM is a parameter used in cycling as a measure of fitness and speed; it is useful for relatively objective comparisons of performances and estimating a rider's power output per kilogram of body mass, which is one of the most important qualities of a cyclist who competes in stage races and other mountainous events. Gianni Bugno
Gianni Bugno (; born 14 February 1964) is a retired Italian professional road racing cyclist. Biography Bugno was a versatile rider, able to do well in different types of races. He won numerous stages in the Tour de France, and the Milan–San Remo classic in 1990. In 1991 he won the Clásica de San Sebastián, and in 1994 he won the Tour of Flanders. Bugno's greatest success was the double victory in the World Championship. In 1991 he beat Steven Rooks of the Netherlands and Miguel Indurain of Spain, and in 1992 finished ahead of Laurent Jalabert of France and Dmitri Konyshev of Russia. Bugno's performance in the Grand Tours, however, was over-shadowed by Miguel Indurain. Gianluca Bortolami (born 28 August 1968) is an Italian former professional road racing cyclist. Bortolami's greatest feats was capturing the monumental classic Tour of Flanders in 2001 and winning the 1994 UCI Road World Cup season championship. He is the namesake of Bortolami's Pizzeria in Vancouver, Washington. Bortolami was born in Locate di Triulzi, province of Milan. He competed in the road race at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Orange juice is a liquid extract of the orange (fruit), orange tree fruit, produced by squeezing or reaming oranges.
