Michal Drobný
Michal Drobný (born 27 October 1934, Zeleneč, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia)) is a Slovak neurologist and politician. He was a member of the National Council between 1998 and 2002, representing the People's Party – Movement for a Democratic Slovakia. Career Drobný is the head of the Department of Neurology at the Martin University Hospital (since 1977, since 1962 lecturer at Faculty of Medicine in Martin), he is a professor at the Jessenius School of Medicine, Comenius University, a founding member of the European Federation of Neurology and Neurological Emergencies, member of the Board of Donau organizational symposium in neurology and neuroscience, member of the Advisory Board at ILAE (International League Against Epilepsy), a member of the European and the World Federation of Neurology and an active member of IBRO (International Brain Research Organization). National Council Of The Slovak Republic
The National Council of the Slovak Republic ( sk, Národná rada Slovenskej republiky), abbreviated to ''NR SR'', is the national parliament of Slovakia. It is unicameral and consists of 150 members, who are elected by universal suffrage under proportional representation with seats distributed via Hagenbach-Bischoff quota every four years. Slovakia's parliament has been called the 'National Council' since 1 October 1992. From 1969 to 1992, its predecessor, the parliament of the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia, was called the Slovak National Council ( sk, Slovenská národná rada). The Jessenius Faculty of Medicine or Jessenius School of Medicine ( sk, Jesseniova lekárska fakulta) is a co-educational medical school in Martin, Slovakia. It is the academic medical teaching and research arm of Comenius University. Ophthalmopathy
Graves’ ophthalmopathy, also known as thyroid eye disease (TED), is an autoimmune inflammatory disorder of the orbit and periorbital tissues, characterized by upper eyelid retraction, lid lag, swelling, redness (erythema), conjunctivitis, and bulging eyes (exophthalmos). It occurs most commonly in individuals with Graves' disease, and less commonly in individuals with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, or in those who are euthyroid. It is part of a systemic process with variable expression in the eyes, thyroid, and skin, caused by autoantibodies that bind to tissues in those organs. The autoantibodies target the fibroblasts in the eye muscles, and those fibroblasts can differentiate into fat cells (adipocytes). Fat cells and muscles expand and become inflamed. Veins become compressed and are unable to drain fluid, causing edema. Annual incidence is 16/100,000 in women, 3/100,000 in men. The Martin University Hospital ( sk, Univerzitná nemocnica Martin, abbreviated to UNM) is a Slovak public university hospital located in the Martin, Slovakia, Martin municipality, in the county of Zilina Region, Zilina, north-east of the Slovak capital Bratislava.
