Michael Wilson (offensive Lineman)
Michael DeForest Wilson (born October 20, 1947 in Wilmington, Ohio) is a former American football player who played Offensive tackle, tackle for the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs from 1969 NFL season, 1969 to 1975 NFL season, 1975. He later played with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League from 1979–1980, where he was an All-Star and won the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award both seasons. Wilson is the only player to have ever played in the American, the National, the World, the Canadian, and the United States Football League. Wilson played football at the University of Dayton, where he played both offensive tackle and fullback for the Flyers. He graduated from Dayton in 1970. Wilson was drafted in the 14th round of the 1969 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. After playing three games his rookie season, in 1970 he played in all 14 games, starting 12. CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award
The Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award is annually awarded to the best offensive lineman in the Canadian Football League. The two nominees for the award are the Leo Dandurand Trophy winner from the East Division, and the DeMarco-Becket Memorial Trophy winner from the West Division. Between the years of 1955 to 1973, both defensive players and offensive lineman had to compete for the CFL's Most Outstanding Lineman Award. By the 1974 season, the league decided to make two separate awards for both defensive players and offensive lineman. Wilmington High School (Ohio)
Wilmington High School is a public high school in Wilmington, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Wilmington City Schools district. Wilmington High School has been rated excellent on the state report card for the past three years. The athletic department has had recent Ohio High School Athletic Association Division 1 individual state champions in Girls' Golf, Boys' Swimming, and Girls' Track. The Boys Basketball team were among the final four teams in the Division 1 OHSAA State basketball tournament in 2016. In 2008, the Wilmingtones show choir—the show choir at Wilmington High School—was featured on The Rachael Ray Show. The group opened for The Fray. 1975 NFL Season
The 1975 NFL season was the 56th regular season of the National Football League. Instead of a traditional Thanksgiving Day game hosted by the Dallas Cowboys, the league scheduled a Buffalo Bills at St. Louis Cardinals contest. This was the first season since that the Cowboys did not play on that holiday. The playoff format was changed so that the division champions with the best regular season records were made the home teams for the divisional round, with the division champion advancing to the conference championship game with the best record hosting the title game. Previously, game sites rotated by division. The caveat stipulating that a wild card team could not face its own division champion in the divisional round was kept in force. The season ended with Super Bowl X when the Pittsburgh Steelers repeated as champions by defeating the Dallas Cowboys at the Orange Bowl in Miami. 1969 NFL Season
The 1969 NFL season was the 50th regular season of the National Football League, and its last before the AFL–NFL merger. To honor the NFL's fiftieth season, a special anniversary logo was designed and each player wore a patch on their jerseys with this logo throughout the season. Per the agreement made during the season, the New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants switched divisions again, returning to the 1967 alignment. The season ended when the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Cleveland Browns in the NFL championship game, earning the right to face the American Football League's champion Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl IV at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans. This was the last awarding of the Ed Thorp Memorial Trophy to the NFL champion; it was introduced 35 years earlier in 1934.
