Michael Williams (born July 16, 1961) is a former American football running back who played three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons. He was drafted by the Eagles in the fourth round of the 1983 NFL Draft. He first enrolled at Northeast Mississippi Community College before transferring to Mississippi College. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. Atmore is a city in Escambia County, Alabama, United States. It was incorporated in 1907. As of the 2020 census, it has a population of 8,391. Atmore is in the planning stages to increase its economic base with additions in its new Rivercane development along the I-65 corridor. Atmore has completed requirements to be recognized as an Alabama Community of Excellence at the upcoming Alabama League of Municipalities Convention. City officials are also working with the Alabama Historical Commission to have the downtown district listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
