Michael Velo
Michael Velo (22 May 1851 – November 1929) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Coalition Party. Born in Jevnaker as a son of farmers Erik Olsen Velo and Karen Olsdatter, he graduated from Asker Seminary in 1869 and worked as a teacher until 1882. He then settled in Larvik to become a businessman. He was the manager of Larvik Potetmelfabrikk from 1898. He was a member of Larvik city council from 1889 to 1909, serving eight years as mayor. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway in 1906, representing the urban constituency of ''Larvik og Sandefjord''. With Julius Christensen as running mate, he edged out the Social Democratic candidate and two Liberal candidates (one of these was a totallist). He served only one term. Coalition Party (Norway)
The Coalition Party ( no, Samlingspartiet) was a Norwegian political coalition drawn from the Conservative Party, the Moderate Liberal Party and independent Liberals. Its main issues were opposition to the Liberal Party's political union radicalism, as well as to the rising growth of social democracy. Originally formed to pursue a more careful negotiating line towards Sweden, the party turned around and took part in Michelsen's Cabinet, which carried through the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden in 1905. The coalition's leading members included Christian Michelsen himself, Wollert Konow (SB) and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. Jevnaker
Jevnaker is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Jevnaker with a population of 4,302. The parish of ''Jævnaker'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The area of Lunner was separated from the municipality of Jevnaker on 1 January 1898 to form a municipality of its own. From 1 January 2020 the municipality belongs to Viken county, it was Oppland before that. The municipality is (together with Gran and Lunner) a part of the Hadeland traditional region. The Hadeland region has a population of about 30,000. The region spreads over a large area including several villages and towns. Julius Christensen (6 December 1840 – 19 October 1923) was a Norwegian doctor and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Sandefjord as a son of ship-owner and merchant Søren Lorents Christensen (1810–1862) and Othilie Juliane Kruge (1820–1903).
