Michael Umeh
Michael Umeh (born 18 September 1984) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player who last played for ESSM Le Portel of the French LNB Pro A. He is a dual citizen of the United States and Nigeria because both of his parents immigrated from Nigeria. Career Umeh played high school basketball at Hightower High School in Houston. He played college basketball at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). Umeh played professionally for the basketball team LTi Giessen 46ers. For the 2010–11 season played for CB Murcia in Spain after winning the LEB Oro play-off finals with ViveMenorca in the previous one. With Murcia, clinched a new promotion to Liga ACB and in 2011 signed with CB Valladolid, but after some weeks, Umeh leaves the team and joins New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig of Basketball Bundesliga. The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. AfroBasket 2015 was the 28th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. It also served as the qualifying tournament for FIBA Africa at the 2016 Summer Olympics Basketball Tournament in Brazil. The tournament was held in Radès, Tunisia. The 2015–2016 Israeli Basketball Super League was the 62nd season of the Israeli Basketball Super League. The regular season started on October 11, 2015 and ended on March 6, 2016.
