Michael Jovan "Juice" Thompson (born February 9, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Al Ahly of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) and the Egyptian Basketball Premier League. In the 2023 season, he won the BAL championship with Al Ahly. Professional career In June 2013, Thompson signed with Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez. On July 24, 2014, he joined SPO Rouen. On August 12, 2015, Thompson returned to Élan béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez. On 31 October 2015, Thompson scored 41 points in a game against SLUC Nancy. Thompson was named to the All-LNB Pro A Team of the 2015–16 season and was the league's top scorer. On July 4, 2016, Thompson signed with Turkish club Beşiktaş. On July 9, 2017, Thompson joined İstanbul BB. On August 23, 2019, he has signed with BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque of the LNB Pro A. He averaged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game. The 2021–22 Egyptian Basketball Super League was the 47th season of the Egyptian Basketball Super League, the highest-level basketball league in Egypt. The defending champions were Zamalek; they were eliminated in the semifinals by Al Ittihad Alexandria. The season began on 26 September 2021 and finished on 16 May 2022. VTB United League
VTB United League (russian: Единая Лига ВТБ) is an international professional men's club basketball league that was founded in 2008. It is made up of mostly Russian clubs, along with one each from Belarus and Kazakhstan. Since 2013, it is the first tier of Russian professional club basketball. Therefore, the highest placed Russian team in the league is also named Russian national champions. The league is sponsored by Russian state-owned VTB Bank. In 2008 CSKA Moscow won VTB United League Promo-Cup, but this competition does not count as official VTB title. The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. Stade Lorrain Université Club Nancy Basket, commonly referred to as SLUC Nancy Basket, is a French professional basketball club based in Nancy. The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is Africa's premier men's basketball league. The league consists of twelve teams, each qualified through their domestic competition, similar to the format of the UEFA Champions League. The league is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) with sponsorship from Nike, Inc., Nike, Air Jordan and Pepsi.
