Sir Michael Ronald Stoute (born 22 October 1945) is a Barbadian British Thoroughbred horse trainer in flat racing. Career Stoute, whose father was the Chief of Police for Barbados, left the island in 1964 at the age of 19 to become an assistant to trainer Pat Rohan and began training horses on his own in 1972. Zilzal (foaled 31 March 1986 – August 13, 2015) was an American- bred, British–trained Thoroughbred racehorse. In a racing career that lasted just over five months, he won five of his six races, including the Sussex Stakes and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. He was the Horse of the Year in England in 1989 and achieved the highest Timeform rating of the year. Zilzal was owned by Mana Al Maktoum and trained by Sir Michael Stoute. Notnowcato (25 March 2002 – 2019) was a thoroughbred racehorse and sire, bred and trained in the United Kingdom. He won several important races in a career which lasted from 2004 to 2007, and is best known for his victory in the 2007 Eclipse Stakes. Background Notnowcato, a 16.1- hand chestnut horse with a narrow, white stripe, was bred by the Rothschild family at their own Southcourt Stud near Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England. North Light (foaled March 1, 2001) is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse, and active sire, bred in Ireland but trained in the United Kingdom. He is best known as the winner of The Derby in 2004. Kris Kin (5 March 2000 – 31 August 2012) was a thoroughbred race horse and active sire. He was bred in the United States but was trained in England during his racing career. In a career that lasted just over a year, from October 2002 to October 2003, he ran seven times and won three races, most notably The Derby in 2003. Golan (foaled 24 February 1998) is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse and active sire who was bred in Ireland, but trained in the United Kingdom throughout his racing career, which lasted from 2000 to 2002. He won the 2000 Guineas in 2001 and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes in 2002. He won the latter race after an eight-month absence from the racecourse. Daliapour (10 March 1996 – August 2015) is an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a racing career which lasted from July 1998 until November 2002 he competed in seven different countries, running 26 times and winning seven races. The horse was bred by Aga Khan IV who owned him before selling him to Robert Ng in late 2000. He was originally trained by Luca Cumani before moving to Michael Stoute's stable in 2000. He was trained in Hong Kong by Ivan Allan for a few months in early 2001 before returning to Stoute for the remainder of his racing career. Pilsudski (23 April 1992 – 4 June 2015) was an Irish-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a four-season career from 1994 to 1997, he progressed from winning modest group races to be regarded as one of the best racehorses in the world. He won eleven races in five different countries, six of them at Group One level. He also finished second in successive runnings of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Singspiel (25 February 1992 – 1 July 2010) was an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire best known for a series of wins in major international races in 1996 and 1997. In a racing career which lasted from September 1994 until August 1997 he won nine of his twenty races and finished second on eight occasions. After showing good, but unexceptional form in his first two seasons he emerged as a world class performer in 1996 when he won the Canadian International Stakes and Japan Cup and was named U.S. Champion Male Turf Horse. In the following season he added victories in the Dubai World Cup, Coronation Cup and International Stakes before his career was ended by injury.
