Michael Rodríguez (cyclist)
Michael Rodríguez Galindo (born 29 July 1989) is a Colombian road racing cyclist, who currently rides for Colombian amateur team Fundación Herrera Team HYF. Rodriguez specialises as a climber. Biography Rodríguez's first strong international performance came with a 6th-place finish riding for the Colombia national team at the 2011 Tour de l'Avenir. He signed for the team when it formed in 2012, and was retained into the 2013 season. His first high placing in an open-age race came in stage 1a of the 2013 Giro del Trentino, where he finished third as part of a breakaway in the opening stage. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on paved roads. Road racing is the most popular professional form of bicycle racing, in terms of numbers of competitors, events and spectators. The two most common competition formats are mass start events, where riders start simultaneously (though sometimes with a handicap) and race to a set finish point; and time trials, where individual riders or teams race a course alone against the clock. A climbing specialist or climber, also known as a grimpeur, is a road bicycle racer who can ride especially well on highly inclined roads, such as those found among hills or mountains. Role of climber in a race In a sustained climb, the average speed declines, the aerodynamic advantage of drafting is diminished and the setting of the group pace becomes more important. A good climber modulates his speed and chooses the best line on a climb, allowing the following riders to have an easier job. If the group maintains a high tempo, it is more difficult for a rider to attack and ride away from the group. Another important role in climbing is that of attacker or counter-attacker. Tour de l'Avenir ( en, Tour of the Future) is a French road bicycle racing stage race, which started in 1961 as a race similar to the Tour de France and over much of the same course but for amateurs and for semi-professionals known as independents. Felice Gimondi, Joop Zoetemelk, Greg LeMond, Miguel Indurain, Laurent Fignon, Egan Bernal, and Tadej Pogačar won the Tour de l'Avenir and went on to win 15 Tours de France, with an additional 10 podium placings between them. 2013 Giro Del Trentino
The 2013 Giro del Trentino was the 37th edition of the Giro del Trentino cycling stage race. It started on 16 April in Lienz (Austria) and ended on 19 April in Sega di Ala. The race, that was officially presented on 8 April in Trento, consisted of four stages, with the first one divided into two half-stages. The race was won by Astana rider Vincenzo Nibali, who claimed the leader's jersey in the final stage and won the ''King of the Mountains'' classification as well.(Italian) Mauro Santambrogio ( Vini Fantini-Selle Italia) was second and Maxime Bouet of Ag2r-La Mondiale completed the podium.
