Michael Roberts (died 3 May 1679) was Principal of Jesus College, Oxford, from 1648 to 1657. Life Roberts came from the parish of Llanffinan in Anglesey, Wales, but his date of birth is uncertain. He graduated with a BA from Trinity College, Dublin in 1620 (MA 1623) and was incorporated at Oxford and Cambridge in 1624. He became a Fellow of Jesus College in 1625, but lost his fellowship in 1637 for failing to take his DD. Michael Roberts (born 27 July 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer and now television sports journalist and reporter with the Nine Network and Triple M. Football career Roberts was recruited from Beaumaris, Victoria, and is the son of former St Kilda Football Club great Neil Roberts. He made his debut with St Kilda in 1978, and went on to play 77 games and kick 45 goals until 1985. He then moved to the Richmond Football Club for one season in 1986, playing only 12 games and 4 goals. He made his final move to the Fitzroy Football Club for 1987, where he managed only 2 games and 1 goal. Roberts also represented Victoria in 1981. Michael Lorenzo Roberts (born May 7, 1994) is a former American football tight end. He played college football for the Toledo Rockets, earning All-American honors in 2016. Professional career Detroit Lions The Detroit Lions selected Roberts in the fourth round (127th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. On May 12, 2017, the Lions signed him to a four-year, $3.00 million contract with a signing bonus of $603,136. In Week 4, against the Minnesota Vikings, he recorded his first career catch, a 15-yard reception. Michael David Tudor Roberts (born 13 March 1989) is an English cricketer. Roberts is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born at Oxford, Oxfordshire, and was educated at The Oratory School, before attending the University of Bath. Roberts made his debut in county cricket for Berkshire against Dorset in the 2006 Minor Counties Championship. Michael Roberts (born 1 June 1979) is a former professional rugby league footballer who last played for the Villeneuve Leopards in the Elite One Championship in France. He played for the Brisbane Broncos in 2007 and trained with the full time squad in 2007 and 2008. He is now a sports teacher and is a certified Top G. Playing career Roberts played his first first-grade game for the Brisbane Broncos in 2007 after playing most of his career at the Queensland Cup team Redcliffe Dolphins. Michael Symmons Roberts FRSL (born 1963 in Preston, Lancashire) is a British poet. He has published eight collections of poetry, all with Cape (Random House), and has won the Forward Prize, the Costa Book Award and the Whitbread Prize for Poetry, as well as major prizes from the Arts Council and Society of Authors. He has been shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize, the Griffin Poetry Prize and the Ondaatje Prize. He has also written novels, libretti and texts for oratorios and song cycles.
