Michael Reeves (footballer)
Michael Reeves (born 7 February 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne and Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL) Reeves, originally from Watsonia, started at North Melbourne in the Under 19s, before making his VFL debut in 1980. From his 10 games that year he kicked 16 goals, which included two five goal hauls, both times against reigning premiers Carlton. He made another 13 appearances in 1981, then didn't play again until midway through the 1983 season, at new club Fitzroy. Used mostly as a defender and in the ruck by Fitzroy, Reeves played 15 games in 1984, including an elimination final. He played finals again in 1986, an elimination final and preliminary final. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It includes teams from clubs based in the eastern states of Australia: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and includes reserves teams for the east coast AFL clubs. Ned Reeves (born 31 October 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer with the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early career Reeves was always a tall boy for his age. Growing up on the Surf Coast in Fairhaven, Ned played his junior football with the Aireys Inlet Eels in the Football Geelong Junior Competition and the Anglesea FNC until he moved to Melbourne at age 15. Ned attended Aireys Inlet primary school and St Josephs College, Geelong before St Kevins College, Toorak. He was the tallest boy in the NAB Under 18 League, playing for Oakleigh Chargers, but he wasn't drafted. He played the 2018 year in the VAFA for St Kevins Old Boys. Joshua Nicholas Caddy (born 28 September 1992) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who last played for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Gold Coast Football Club from 2011 to 2012, and the Geelong Football Club from 2013 to 2016. Caddy was drafted by Gold Coast with the seventh selection in the 2010 AFL draft after captaining underage football with the Northern Knights in the TAC Cup. He was a premiership player with Richmond in both 2017 and 2019. Junior football Caddy played junior football with Eltham in the Diamond Valley Football League before joining the Northern Knights in the TAC Cup. John Norman Reeves (2 September 1929 – 1 May 1970) was an Australian rules footballer for North Melbourne and St Kilda in the Victorian Football League, (VFL). Originally from Assumption College, Kilmore, Reeves made his senior VFL debut in 1948 and played in North Melbourne's losing 1950 VFL Grand Final side. After eight seasons at North Melbourne Reeves transferred to St Kilda for the 1956 VFL season, which proved to be his last. Reeves's son Michael played for North Melbourne and Fitzroy between 1980 and 1987, and his grandson Josh Caddy played for the Gold Coast Suns, the Geelong Football Club and the Richmond Football Club between 2011 and 2022. The ''Ballarat Courier'' is a newspaper circulating in the Ballarat region of regional Victoria. It is published daily from Monday to Saturday. In 2021 the editor is Eugene Duffy. The newspaper is owned by Australian Community Media. History In 1867, Robert Clark and Edward J.Bateman established ''The Courier'' under the name of Bateman Clark & Co. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL).
