Michael Rectenwald
Michael D. Rectenwald (born January 29, 1959) is an American author and former professor. Although he has written about 19th-century British secularism, he may be most known as a critic of the contemporary social justice movement. Early life and education Rectenwald's 2018 memoir states that he is the seventh of nine children. Rectenwald is a 1977 graduate of North Catholic High School in the Troy Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His undergraduate studies in English included an apprenticeship with Beat Generation poet Allen Ginsberg at Naropa University (formerly Naropa Institute) during the 1979–80 school year. He graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 1983 with a B.A. in English literature. In 1997, Case Western Reserve University awarded Rectenwald a master's degree in English literature. Mises Institute
Ludwig von Mises Institute for Austrian Economics, or Mises Institute, is a libertarian nonprofit think tank headquartered in Auburn, Alabama, United States. It is named after the Austrian School economist Ludwig von Mises (1881–1973). It was founded in 1982 by Lew Rockwell. Its creation was funded by Ron Paul. Cultural Studies
Cultural studies is an interdisciplinary field that examines the political dynamics of contemporary culture (including popular culture) and its historical foundations. Cultural studies researchers generally investigate how cultural practices relate to wider systems of power associated with, or operating through, social phenomena. These include ideology, class structures, national formations, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, and generation. Employing cultural analysis, cultural studies views cultures not as fixed, bounded, stable, and discrete entities, but rather as constantly interacting and changing sets of practices and processes. George, Luis Tellez, and others involved with the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions.
