Michael Rae
Michael Rae (born 13 June 1995) is a New Zealand first-class cricketer who plays for Canterbury cricket team, Canterbury. He made his List A cricket, List A debut for New Zealand national cricket team, New Zealand XI Pakistani cricket team in New Zealand in 2017–18, against Pakistan on 3 January 2018. He was the joint-leading wicket-taker in the 2017–18 Plunket Shield season for Otago, with 29 dismissals in ten matches. In June 2018, he was awarded a contract with Otago for the 2018–19 season. In June 2020, he was offered a contract by Otago ahead of the 2020–21 domestic cricket season. In November 2020, Rae was named in the New Zealand A cricket team for practice matches against the West Indian cricket team in New Zealand in 2020–21, touring West Indies team. 2020–21 Ford Trophy
The 2020–21 Ford Trophy was the 50th season of The Ford Trophy, the List A cricket tournament that was played in New Zealand. It was the tenth in a sponsorship deal between New Zealand Cricket and Ford Motor Company. It started on 29 November 2020 and finished on 6 March 2021. Auckland were the defending champions. On 15 June 2020, New Zealand Cricket announced the first round of contracts for domestic teams ahead of the 2020–21 season. The full schedule for the tournament was confirmed on 8 October 2020. Central Districts Cricket Team
The Central Stags, formerly known as Central Districts, are a first-class cricket team based in central New Zealand. They are the men's representative side of the Central Districts Cricket Association. They compete in the Plunket Shield first-class competition, The Ford Trophy domestic one-day competition and the Men's Super Smash Twenty20 competition. They are one of six teams that make up New Zealand Cricket. They were the fifth of the current teams to compete in the Plunket Shield, which they entered for the first time in the 1950/51 season. Hat-trick (cricket)
In cricket, a hat-trick occurs when a bowler takes three wickets with consecutive deliveries. The deliveries may be interrupted by an over bowled by another bowler from the other end of the pitch or the other team's innings, but must be three consecutive deliveries by the individual bowler in the same match. Only wickets attributed to the bowler count towards a hat-trick; run outs do not count, although they can contribute towards a so-called team hat-trick, which is ostensibly a normal hat-trick except that the three successive deliveries can be wickets from any bowler in the team and with any mode of dismissal. Hat-tricks are rare, and as such are treasured by bowlers. The term is also sometimes used to mean winning the same competition three times in a row. The 2020–21 Plunket Shield was the 92nd season of the Plunket Shield, the domestic first-class cricket competition in New Zealand. It started on 19 October 2020 and finished on 6 April 2021.
