Michael Pucci (author)
Michael Joseph Pucci (born 1 June 1963) is a former American–Australian politician who served in the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 2012 to 2015, representing the seat of Logan. He was born in the United States, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years before immigrating to Australia. Pucci represented the Liberal National Party while in parliament, but in 2017 began working for One Nation as its campaign director for the next state election. Personal life Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, U.S., on 1 June 1963, Pucci is the youngest of eight children and was raised in Wisconsin, United States by his mother. When he was old enough, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, which started a 20-year career that took him to postings throughout the world including Australia, the US, and the Middle East. Queensland Legislative Assembly
The Legislative Assembly of Queensland is the sole chamber of the unicameral Parliament of Queensland established under the Constitution of Queensland. Elections are held every four years and are done by full preferential voting. The Assembly has 93 members, who have used the letters MP after their names since 2000 (previously they were styled MLAs). The Australian Labor Party (Queensland Branch), commonly known as Queensland Labor or as just Labor inside Queensland, is the state branch of the Australian Labor Party in the state of Queensland. 2012 Queensland State Election
The 2012 Queensland state election was held on 24 March 2012 to elect all 89 members of the Legislative Assembly, a unicameral parliament. The Labor Party (ALP), led by Premier Anna Bligh, was defeated by the opposition Liberal National Party (LNP), led by Campbell Newman. It is only the sixth time that Queenslanders have ousted a sitting government since 1915. The ALP was attempting to win a ninth consecutive election victory, having won every general election since 1989, despite being out of office between 1996 and 1998. The Good Conduct Medal is one of the oldest military awards of the United States Armed Forces. The Commendation Medal is a mid-level United States military decoration presented for sustained acts of heroism or meritorious service.
