Michael Papajohn
Michael Papajohn (born November 7, 1964) is an American character actor, stuntman and former college baseball player for the LSU Tigers baseball team. He played Dennis Carradine in Sam Raimi's ''Spider-Man'' trilogy. Early life Papajohn was born and raised Vestavia Hills, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama, to a Greek American family. He graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 1983 and went on to play for two years at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida. He was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 1985 Major League Baseball Draft. Instead of signing a contract, he accepted a baseball scholarship to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Vestavia Hills, colloquially known simply as Vestavia, is a city in Jefferson and Shelby counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is a suburb of Birmingham and it is made up of Vestavia, Liberty Park, and Cahaba Heights. As of the 2020 census, its population was 39,102, up from 34,033 in 2010. Skip Bertman
Stanley "Skip" Bertman (born May 23, 1938) is a former college baseball coach and athletic director at Louisiana State University (LSU). He led the LSU Tigers baseball team to five College World Series championships and seven Southeastern Conference (SEC) championships in 18 years as head coach. He amassed 870 wins, 330 losses, and three ties for a .724 winning percentage. His .754 winning percentage in NCAA baseball tournament competition is the highest among head coaches in college baseball history. 1986 College World Series
The 1986 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was played at the end of the 1986 NCAA Division I baseball season to determine the national champion of college baseball. The tournament concluded with eight teams competing in the College World Series, a double-elimination tournament in its fortieth year. Eight regional competitions were held to determine the participants in the final event. Four regions held a four team, double-elimination tournament while the remaining four regions included six teams, resulting in 40 teams participating in the tournament at the conclusion of their regular season, and in some cases, after a conference tournament. The College World Series (CWS), officially the NCAA Men's College World Series (MCWS), is an annual baseball tournament held in June in Omaha, Nebraska. Barry Manuel
Barry Paul Manuel (born August 12, 1965) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played all or part of five seasons in Major League Baseball between 1991 and 1998, and one season in Nippon Professional Baseball in 1999. In high school Manuel made the all-state team in 1984 and went on to play for LSU from 1984-87. In 1986 he was voted on the College Baseball All-American team. He was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the second round of the 1987 Major League Baseball draft. Manuel was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 6, 1991, with the Texas Rangers. After his major league career, Manuel played one game for the Seibu Lions in Japan in 1999. Jack Voigt
John David Voigt (born May 17, 1966) is an American former professional baseball outfielder and the current hitting coach for the Las Vegas 51s. He played all or part of seven seasons in the majors, from 1992 until 1998, for the Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He currently works in the New York Mets organization as their outfield/baserunning coordinator.
