Michael Milne
Michael Milne (born 5 February 1999) is an Irish rugby union player who has come through the Leinster Rugby academy and became a member of the Senior Squad on 15 April 2021. He normally plays as a loosehead prop. Early life Milne was born and raised in Crinkill, Birr, County Offaly and first began playing rugby aged five or six for Birr RFC. He attended Cistercian College and helped the school to their first ever Leinster Schools Rugby Senior Cup in 2015. Leinster Milne made his senior competitive debut for Leinster in their opening fixture of the 2019–20 Pro14 season away to Italian side Benetton on 28 September 2019, which the province won 32–27. Ireland Milne was part of the Ireland under-20s squad that won a grand slam during the 2019 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. Crinkill
Crinkill (), sometimes spelt Crinkle, is a village in County Offaly, Ireland, close to Birr. Crinkill was designated as a census town by the Central Statistics Office for the first time in the 2016 census, at which time it had a population of 682 people. History The village originally grew up around a British Army military barracks, Birr Barracks, which was constructed around 1805. However, the barracks was abandoned by the British army around the time of Irish independence, and was burnt down in July 1922 as a result of the civil war that followed. Triple Crown (rugby Union)
In rugby union, the Triple Crown is an honour contested annually by the "Home Nations" – i.e. Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales who compete within the larger Six Nations Championship. If any one of these teams defeat all three other teams, they win the Triple Crown. The Six Nations Championship also includes France and Italy, but their involvement in the tournament has no influence on the result of the Triple Crown, although it means that the winners of the Triple Crown are not necessarily the winners of the Championship as a whole. Emerging Ireland is an Irish rugby union team that represents Ireland in the World Rugby Nations Cup. History 2013 Tbilisi Cup The team was created to offer Tier 1 level opposition for Tier 2 sides in the IRB Tbilisi Cup, held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
