Michael Marrone (boxer)
Michael Marrone (born September 24, 1985) is an American professional boxer. He challenged for the WBA cruiserweight title in 2011. Beginnings and amateur As a child Marrone frequented the gym of the Duva family in Florida. He became close to Lou Duva who promoted and represented Marrone. At the National Golden Gloves tournament in 2003 he competed at Heavyweight with 201 lbs limit. He went up to super heavyweight and beat Mike Wilson in the PAL tournament 2003. In the finals he was outpointed by George Garcia, however. His amateur record was 42–9. Professional career He turned pro in 2004 at age 18. Marrone's record as of October 2011 is 20-3-0 with 15 knockouts. Marrone scored a victory in April 2007 with an eight-round majority decision against previously undefeated Malachy Farrell in Atlantic City. Chazz Witherspoon
Chazz Witherspoon (born September 16, 1981) is an American former professional boxer. The second cousin of former boxing champion Tim Witherspoon, he emerged as a talented boxer in the 2000s. He won the 2004 National Golden Gloves finals in Kansas City, Missouri, and by collecting all wins via stoppage, he became the first man in the history of the Golden Gloves to win the National Title by all stoppages. In 2008, holding a record of 23-0 with 14 KOs, he was set to fight fellow heavyweight prospect Chris Arreola to determine America's top heavyweight contender. Witherspoon lost the fight, and Arreola went on to challenge world champion Vitali Klitschko. Simon Kean (born 11 January 1989) is a Canadian professional boxer. As an amateur he qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics along with countryman Custio Clayton. The Rapides Parish Coliseum (often called the Rapides Coliseum, as noted on the sign out front) is a multi-purpose arena located on Louisiana Highway 28 West in Alexandria, Louisiana.
