Michael Manahan
Michael Manahan (died 2000) was a prominent Irish civil servant, within the Department of Industry and Commerce. He played a pioneering role in all aspects of marine science and technology in Ireland spanning three decades. In recognition of this work the Irish Marine Institute created the prestigious Manahan Fellowship of €100,000, which supports original research in Marine Science Policy, Socio-Economics and Law of the Sea. Michael Manahan served as a member of the Board of the Marine Institute from 1992 until his death in February 2000. As the former Head of the Science and Technology Division in the Department of the Taoiseach, he had a broad experience of science and technology at national and international level. The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland, popularly referred to as the Marine Institute (MI) or simply Marine, is a post-secondary ocean and marine polytechnic located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland. Fair City
''Fair City'' is an Irish television soap opera which has been broadcast on RTÉ One since 1989. Produced by the public service broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ), it first aired on Monday, 18 September 1989. Anna Manahan
Anna Maria Manahan (18 October 1924 – 8 March 2009) was an Irish stage, film and television actress. Manahan received two Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play nominations for her performances in the 1968 production of '' Lovers'' and the 1998 production of ''The Beauty Queen of Leenane''. She won for the latter of which at the 52nd Tony Awards. Manahan was also nominated for two Drama Desk Awards, a Laurence Olivier Award, and an Outer Critics Circle Award in her career spanned more than 60 years.
