Michael Madden (Medal Of Honor)
Michael Madden (September 28, 1841 – August 7, 1920) was a Private in the United States Army and a Medal of Honor recipient for his role with the 42nd New York Infantry of the Union Army in the American Civil War. Madden enlisted in the Army from New York City in June 1861, and was mustered out in July 1864. Madden is buried in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. His grave can be located in Section O, Lot 165. Medal of Honor citation Rank and organization: Private, Company K, 42d New York Infantry. Place and date: At Masons Island, Md., September 3, 1861. Entered service at: New York, N.Y. Born: September 28, 1841, Ireland. Date of issue: March 22, 1898. Citation: Assisted a wounded comrade to the riverbank and, under heavy fire of the enemy, swam with him across a branch of the Potomac to the Union lines. Mickey Madden
Michael Allen Madden (born May 13, 1979) is an American musician and a former bassist for the pop rock band Maroon 5. Life and music career Madden was born in Austin, Texas. He began playing in junior high school at the Brentwood School in Los Angeles, playing in garages along with friends Jesse Carmichael (guitar/vocals) and Adam Levine (vocals/guitar). The bands Pearl Jam and Nirvana were among their influences. In 1994, with the addition of Ryan Dusick (drums), the band Kara's Flowers was formed. After the break-up of Kara's Flowers, Madden attended classes at UCLA. After Madden attended college, the group reformed with guitarist James Valentine joining the line-up, and Jesse Carmichael mainly playing the keyboards, and pursued a new musical direction, changing their name to Maroon 5. Madden (born September 13, 1943, in Estherville, Iowa) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Wyoming House of Representatives representing District 40 since January 2007. Education Madden earned his BS from South Dakota State University and his PhD from Iowa State University.
