Michael Logan Lampton (born March 1, 1941) is an American astronaut, founder of the optical ray tracing companStellar Software and known for his paper on electroacoustics with Susan M Lea, ''The theory of maximally flat loudspeaker systems''. Personal Lampton was born March 1, 1941 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He is married to San Francisco State University physicist, Susan M. Lea, with whom he has one daughter, Jennifer Lea Lampton. The Joint Dark Energy Mission (JDEM) was an Einstein probe that planned to focus on investigating dark energy. JDEM was a partnership between NASA and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). In August 2010, the Board on Physics and Astronomy of the National Science Foundation (NSF) recommended the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST) mission, a renamed JDEM-Omega proposal which has superseded SNAP, Destiny, and Advanced Dark Energy Physics Telescope (ADEPT), as the highest priority for development in the decade around 2020. The Great Rose Bowl Hoax was a prank at the 1961 Rose Bowl, an annual American college football bowl game. That year, the Washington Huskies were pitted against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. At halftime, the Huskies led 17–0, and their cheerleaders took the field to lead the spectators in the stands in a card stunt, a routine involving flip-cards depicting various images for the audience to raise. However, a number of students from the California Institute of Technology managed to alter the card stunt shown during the halftime break, by making the Washington fans inadvertently spell out ''CALTECH''.
