Michael Knibb
Michael Anthony Knibb (born 1938) is a biblical scholar and retired academic. He was Samuel Davidson Professor of Old Testament Studies at King's College London from 1997 to 2001. Born 14 December 1938, he completed BD and PhD degrees at King's College. The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece. The British Academy is the United Kingdom's national academy for the humanities and the social sciences. It was established in 1902 and received its royal charter in the same year. A national academy is an organizational body, usually operating with state financial support and approval, that co-ordinates scholarly research activities and standards for academic disciplines, most frequently in the sciences but also the humanities.
