Michael Kleiman
Michael Kleiman is a documentary filmmaker who has focused on films with social themes. He co-directed ''The Last Survivor'', which was a MIPCOM pick for 2010 and ''Web (2013 film), Web'', which premiered at the DOC NYC Film Festival where it won the Sundance Now Audience Award. Life Kleiman was born in Long Island, NY. He became attracted to cinema as a child, especially after seeing Macaulay Culkin’s performance in ''Home Alone'', then regularly imitated scenes from that movie (especially Keven McAllister’s scene, applying aftershave and screaming into the mirror) as well as scenes from ''My Cousin Vinny'' and ''The Fugitive (1993 film), The Fugitive'', in part because it was the only time he was allowed to curse. Rwanda Genocide
The Rwandan genocide occurred between 7 April and 15 July 1994 during the Rwandan Civil War. During this period of around 100 days, members of the Tutsi minority ethnic group, as well as some moderate Hutu and Twa, were killed by armed Hutu militias. The most widely accepted scholarly estimates are around 500,000 to 662,000 Tutsi deaths. In 1990, the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), a rebel group composed mostly of Tutsi refugees, invaded northern Rwanda from their base in Uganda, initiating the Rwandan Civil War. Over the course of the next three years, neither side was able to gain a decisive advantage. In an effort to bring the war to a peaceful end, the Rwandan government led by Hutu president, Juvénal Habyarimana signed the Arusha Accords with the RPF on 4 August 1993. Nicholas Negroponte
Nicholas Negroponte (born December 1, 1943) is a Greek American architect. He is the founder and chairman Emeritus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab, and also founded the One Laptop per Child Association (OLPC). Negroponte is the author of the 1995 bestseller ''Being Digital'' translated into more than forty languages.
