Michael Joseph (businessman)
Michael Joseph is a South African businessman. He is currently Chairman of Kenya Airways, a position he has held since October 2016, and also chairs the Safaricom PLC board, having been appointed in August 2020. He was previously the CEO of Safaricom from July 2000 to November 2010, as Founder and CEO, and then again as acting CEO from July 2019 to March 2020. He is also Chairman of the M-PESA Foundation and the M-PESA Foundation Academy. He was until recently (October 2017) Vodafone’s Director of Mobile Money and was responsible for leading the strategic growth and development of successful M-PESA proposition across the Vodafone footprint. Kenya Airways Ltd., more commonly known as Kenya Airways, is the flag carrier airline of Kenya. The company was founded in 1977, after the dissolution of East African Airways. Robert William Collymore (usually Bob; 13 January 1958 – 1 July 2019) was a Guyanese-born Kenyan businessman who served as the chief executive officer at Safaricom, a multi-national telecommunications company based in Kenya. Early life and education Collymore was born in Guyana and raised by his grandparents there. At the age of 16, he moved to join his mother in the United Kingdom, attending Selhurst High School Upon leaving school, he was offered a place at Warwick University, but had to turn this down as he was ineligible for funding.
