Michael J. Jackson
Michael J. Jackson is an English actor. Early career Jackson studied at the University of London and then joined repertory theatre in Sheffield, followed by Coventry, Birmingham and Edinburgh. He appeared in several theatre productions early on in his career, including a West End production with Rowan Atkinson and Watford's Palace Theatre's production of ''The Incident at Tulse Hill''. He won the Evening Standard British Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer Actor in 1978. He has worked in theatres across the country throughout his career, including a stint as Duke Frederick in Shakespeare's '' As You Like It'' and most recently when he starred as George Pye in ''Humble Boy'' at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter. Exeter
Exeter () is a city in Devon, South West England. It is situated on the River Exe, approximately northeast of Plymouth and southwest of Bristol. Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English actress, media personality, and singer. ''Maigret'' is a British television series that ran on ITV for twelve episodes in 1992 and 1993. It is an adaptation of the books by Georges Simenon featuring his fictional French detective Jules Maigret. It aired in the United States on ''Mystery!''. ''Wish Me Luck'' is a British television drama about the exploits of British women undercover agents during the Second World War. The series was made by London Weekend Television for the ITV network between 17 January 1988 and 25 February 1990 and created by Lavinia Warner and Jill Hyem, who had previously produced and written the BBC women prisoner of war series '' Tenko''. The series was filmed on location in England and France. ''Wish Me Luck'' is similar to '' Tenko'' and the 1970s BBC drama '' Secret Army'', in that it deals with strong female characters coping under extreme conditions in wartime. ''Fairly Secret Army'' is a British sitcom which ran to thirteen episodes over two series between 1984 and 1986. Though not a direct spin-off from ''The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin'', the lead character, Major Harry Truscott, was very similar to Geoffrey Palmer's character of Jimmy Anderson from that series, who himself featured in a scene where he tried to recruit Reggie to a secret army with very similar aims to Truscott's (a scene repeated, near verbatim, in episode 2 of ''Fairly Secret Army''). The scripts were written by Reginald Perrin's creator and writer David Nobbs.
