Michael Hicks (game Designer)
Michael Hicks (born January 3, 1993) is an American game designer, musician, programmer and writer. His most notable works include 2018's ''The Path of Motus'' and 2015's ''Pillar''. Described as a " lone auteur", Hicks is noted for his innovative game concepts. His soundtrack work has also been critically acclaimed. Early life Hicks grew up in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and attended Mt. Vernon Township High School. Hicks began programming games at 14 and taught himself the skills he needed by studying examples online. While attending High School he released his first published video game onto Xbox Live Indie Games at 18. After High School he moved to Winter Park, Florida to attend Full Sail University. Career After releasing his first published game in 2011, Hicks became active in the Xbox Live Indie Games community. Michael Hicks (1543–1612)
Sir Michael Hicks (21 October 1543 – 15 August 1612) was an English courtier and politician who was secretary to Lord Burghley during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Early life Michael Hicks (or Hickes) born 21 October 1543, was eldest son of Robert Hicks of Bristol, Gloucestershire, at one time a London merchant. His mother was Julian (or Juliana), daughter and heiress of William Arthur of Somerset. His younger brother, Baptist, was created Viscount Campden. Michael matriculated at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1559 and was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1564. Career Joining the household of Sir William Cecil, the future Lord Burghley, he rose to become one of Burghley's two principal secretaries at the time he was the Queen's chief minister. Taking the same position with Sir Robert Cecil after Burghley's death, Hicks became an influential figure at court and appears to have been popular. Michael Hicks (British Army Officer)
Major-General William Michael Ellis Hicks (2 June 1928 – 27 December 2008) was a British Army officer. Military career Educated at Eton College and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Hicks was commissioned into the Coldstream Guards in 1948. He became commanding officer of 1st Battalion the Coldstream Guards in 1970 and was deployed to Northern Ireland during the Troubles. He went on to be commander of the 4th Guards Armoured Brigade in Münster in 1974, Brigadier on the General Staff at UK Land Forces in 1976 and General Officer Commanding North West District in 1980 before retiring in 1983. Michael Dustin Hicks (born 1956) is an American professor of music, poet and artist, who has studied a broad array of topics, although his work on music and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been ground-breaking in that field. Hicks was born and raised in California. Hicks has a DMA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has been on the music faculty at Brigham Young University (BYU) since 1984. Hicks has a bachelor's degree from BYU. He has been a full professor at BYU since 1996. Hicks first book was ''Mormonism and Music: A History'' (1989).
