Michael Healy (statistician)
Michael John Romer Healy (26 November 1923 – 17 July 2016) was a British statistician known for his contributions to statistical computing, auxology, laboratory statistics and quality control, and methods for analysing longitudinal data, among other areas. He was professor of medical statistics at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine from 1977 until his retirement. The Royal Statistical Society awarded him the Guy Medal in Silver in 1979 and Gold in 1999, and he also acted as chairman of its medical section. He was the author or co-author of three books and over 200 scientific papers. He died on 17 July 2016 at the age of 92. The characters of '' Oz'', fictional characters on the television series about prison life, are a diverse mixture of inmates from various gangs and prison staff. Michael Healy (born 3 January 1978) is an Irish hurler who played as a full-back for the Galway senior team. Healy made his first appearance for the team during the 1997 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 2000 championship. Michael Healy (artist)
Michael Healy (14 November 1873 – 22 September 1941) was an Irish stained glass artist, one of a small number which included Wilhelmina Geddes, Evie Hone, and Harry Clarke, who achieved international recognition for their work in this medium in the first half of the 20th century. He also achieved some distinction as an illustrator and cartoonist early on in his artistic career, and as an ongoing recorder (in rapid pencil and watercolour impressions) of Dublin street characters going about their daily business. Healy also occasionally painted in oil, both portraits and landscapes, exhibiting a small number of the latter during his lifetime. Michael Healy-Rae (born 9 January 1967) is an Irish Independent politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Kerry constituency since 2016, and previously from 2011 to 2016 for the Kerry South constituency. He previously served as Chair of the Committee on European Union Affairs from 2016 to 2020. Prior to entering national politics, he was involved in local politics in County Kerry and pursued business interests. Family life He is the youngest son of Jackie Healy-Rae, who was a TD for Kerry South from 1997 to 2011, and a brother of Danny Healy-Rae who is also a TD.
