Michael Francis Eden, 7th Baron Henley
Michael Francis Eden, 7th Baron Henley and 5th Baron Northington (13 August 1914 – 20 December 1977), was a British peer active in Liberal Party politics. Eden succeeded as Baron Henley and Baron Northington in 1962. He served as President of the Liberal Party from 1966 to 1967, then as Chairman from 1968 to 1969. He served as deputy whip of the party in the House of Lords. In 1973, he was appointed Chairman of the Council for the Protection of Rural England. Outside politics, he bought and restored Scaleby Castle Scaleby Castle is in the village of Scaleby, Cumbria, England. The castle was originally built in the early 14th century, and extended in the 15th century to form a substantial fortification. CPRE, The Countryside Charity, formerly known by names such as the ''Council for the Preservation of Rural England'' and the ''Council for the Protection of Rural England'', is a charity in England with over 40,000 members and supporters. Desmond Banks
Desmond Anderson Harvie Banks, Baron Banks, CBE (23 October 1918 – 15 June 1997) was a British Liberal Party politician. Banks was born in Ascot, Berkshire. He was educated at prep school in Harrow and University College School in Hampstead. During the Second World War he served as an officer in the Royal Artillery. In 1948 he married Barbara Wells who in 1987 was awarded the OBE for services to the Women's Liberal Federation. They had two sons, Alistair Richard Harvie Banks (b. 1950) and Graham Thornton Harvie Banks (b. 1953). Banks was a life insurance broker and pensions consultant. He was Chairman of the Liberal Party Executive from 1961 to 1963 and from 1969 to 1970, and President of the Liberal Party from 1968 to 1969. Timothy Wentworth Beaumont, Baron Beaumont of Whitley (22 November 1928 – 8 April 2008) was a British politician and an Anglican priest. Donald Wade
Donald William Wade, Baron Wade, DL (16 June 1904 – 6 November 1988) was a British solicitor who became a Liberal Party Member of Parliament. Wade's time in Parliament coincided with the time the Liberals were at their lowest ebb but his job as Chief Whip kept the party operating until times were better; however, his own seat was dependent on a local pact with the Conservatives and when it broke down, he was defeated.
