Michael Ellis (designer)
Michael Ellis (born October 1962) is an American transportation designer. His firm, Ellis Industrial Design, provides design services in the areas of transportation, product and machine design. He is also, on the board of directors of kIDs Innovation Studios, a youth enrichment program created to develop technical, creative and critical thinking skills. Previously, Ellis was a Chief Designer for Ford Motor Company, Ellis’ designs include such vehicles as the Ford Ranger, Ford Explorer, Ford Expedition and TH!NK city vehicle lines. Four of his vehicles achieved industry-wide segment sales, volume and profit records and he has had six vehicles with design input appear simultaneously on America's list of top ten best-selling cars. Ford Ranger
Ford Ranger is a nameplate that has been used on multiple model lines of pickup trucks sold by Ford worldwide. The nameplate has been used for distinct model lines of vehicles worldwide since 1982 from the compact and mid-size pickup category. The Ford Ranger debuted as a compact pickup mainly sold in North America since 1982 for the 1983 model year, with later introductions in some South American countries. Between 1998 and 2011, the Ranger nameplate is also used for models that was developed by Mazda for sale outside the North American market. In 2011, Ford introduced the first Ranger based on the T6 platform. Considered a mid-size pickup truck, the model was developed in-house by Ford Australia. Ford Explorer
The Ford Explorer is a range of SUVs manufactured by Ford Motor Company since the 1991 model year. The first four-door SUV produced by Ford, the Explorer was introduced as a replacement for the two-door Bronco II. Within the current Ford light truck range, the Explorer is slotted between the Ford Edge and Ford Expedition. As with the Ford Ranger, the Explorer derives its name from a trim package previously offered on the Ford F-Series pickup trucks. Ford Expedition
The Ford Expedition is a full-size three-row SUV, manufactured by Ford. Introduced for the 1997 model year as the successor of the Ford Bronco, the Expedition was the first full-size Ford SUV sold with a four-door body. For its entire production life, the Ford Expedition has been derived from the corresponding generation of the Ford F-150 in production, sharing some body and mechanical components. The fourth-generation Ford Expedition began production for the 2018 model year. Think Global was an electric car company located in Bærum, Norway, which manufactured cars under the ''TH!NK'' brand. Production of the Think City was stopped in March 2011 and the company filed for bankruptcy on June 22, 2011, for the fourth time in 20 years.
